a few years ago, i remember stuffing something into my full closet, laying down to sleep, and feeling this overwhelming feeling of 'i have too much shit.' fast forward to me staying up all night, researching what i was newly introduced to- minimalism. now a few years later, i realised i don't see myself as a minimalist at all lol. i like knick knacks and extra things and over my dead body will i get rid of my art supplies. (i did make the mistake of getting rid of some stuff i wish i hadn't- some books, a few small things from travels, etc.) now i embody some advice my sister told me a long time ago, when talking about how she purchases clothes (as she is a big fashion lover): if i don't absolutely love it, i won't buy it. if there is something in my possession that i don't find is useful or something i LOVE, then it gets the boot. now things i own really embody what i love and what i feel comfortable with, but it took me years to do this. like my closet, i had too much shit so i got rid of anything i didn't like. took several cullings lol. now my closet has grown since then but everything i do love and want to wear. last year surprised me since it was the first time i was like... i don't want to buy more tee shirts. i have plenty. i'm finally exploring more of fashion and style and choosing things i like and feel good in. i want to start getting staple pieces, like a couple of good coats (hoodie life chose me) but i'm currently on a weight loss journey so i'm waiting until i find a more stable weight. :)

VEDA THE BOOTS YOU GOT PLEASE

Everything in my wardrobe is thrifted except underwear & bathing suits. I don't keep a very large wardrobe (I share a 4 foot closet). Instead I keep a running list on my phone of what I own & what I need. I keep my base color to black & grey and then add color and pattern with selected vintage items. I only buy/keep items that fit well, flatter in style & color & that I feel great in. Everything mixes & matches to give me maximum options with fewer pieces. My favorite pieces: Vintage 90s power suit in black. Grey skirt & blazer from the late 80's 70s lavender floral maxi dress Early 80s Kelly Green blouse with high collar. 70s brown leather jacket Vintage Liz Claiborne square toed loafer 90s black slip dress 70s purple check pussy bow blouse Calvin Klein cords VERY chunky 80s hand knit cardigan 60s blue & green floral midi dress

Random tip for glasses (since I have a super small head and need smaller glasses) there will be measurements on the inside that will say a number between like 48-56 (I'm guessing your face size) and that is the measurement across them (the length). I think there is also a width option. So next time you shop for glasses check out the measurements against your face :)
