wait, why am i seeing people blame jinmi for killing xufeng? yes, she stabbed him. but it DID NOT have to go that way if it weren't for suihe killing her parents and the night immortal manipulating her with a wrong dream. imagine that the only person who had the power to kill your parents was there using the same method right in front of you- would that not trigger you to do something as a defensive mechanism? granted, she had been doubting him and not feeling anything for him after her pill was reconstructed again and all that's left is hatred and hungry for justice. she was manipulated, that's it. she was as much as a victim as xufeng.

Suihe killed Jinmi's parents using the lotus fire (she got it from Phoenix's mom and supposedly only Phoenix and his mom knew the power). Jinmi misunderstood it, thinking Phoenix killed her father since Phoenix's mom is in the prison, no way she can be the one who did it. While Runyu, he manipulated the dream beads. When Jinmi saw it, it made her truly believe that it was Phoenix who killed her father and her step-mom. Also, Runyu knew the existence of anti-love elixir in Jinmi's body. When in Jinmi and Phoenix were in mortal realm, the elixir broken into half pieces, later Runyu fixed the elixir thinking that if he can't get Jinmi's love, then it's better for her to live without knowing what's love. That's why Jinmi end up killing Phoenix and the anti-love elixir broken the moment she killed him, the man she truly loves. This scene is so heartbreaking but I keep coming back to it. I hated Jin mi so much here 😭. These three just went through pain they didn’t deserve. If run yu wasn’t maltreated by the evil empress, he wouldn’t have had to become evil and if Jin mi didn’t have the yun elixir, she would have realized it was xu feng she loved.

I was really disappointed with Jin Mi killing Phoenix by backstabbing him like that. It was such a huge betrayal. Even if she didn't understand Phoenix's love or could love him back because of the Yun Elixir, it shouldn't have stopped her using her head or from understanding Phoenix's character as one of her closest friends. She didn't believe him when he said the evidence pointing to him as the murderer are way too obvious and he's being framed. Phoenix gains nothing from killing her parents, and would lose her who meant everything to him from doing so. He was always respectful toward her parents, never even had an argument with them. It's illogical for him to kill her parents when he's trying to be together with her and make her happy. Even other people have said to her she should know what kind of person he is based on the hundreds of years they've known each other. Yet she rather believe in the "evidence" than believe in him. She made a very stupid decision killing someone who had always protected her, always being sincere to her, and always done right by her. Or if she's not stupid then she's deadly cruel to just execute a close friend like that which is even worse for her character.

i watched this when im just a newbie in xianxia dramas and this scene was memorable, i didnt expect her to stab xu feng! and when she said she never loved him damn it hurts so much 🥲

Ran Yu was right in everything he did except for manipulating Jin Mi. The Emperor and Empress were terrible people that did as they pleased because they were so highly ranked. They had so many people who feared them and were trying to get him over throned way before Ran Yun decided to step in and do something. I believe at some point he really did love Jin Mi, she was one of the only people who cared about him and treated him like an equal. I think at some point before his mother died he would’ve broken off the engagement for Xu Feng’s happiness and Jin Mi’s. But time and time again many people kept showing him not matter what he did Xu Feng would always come above him. One of those people constantly being the moon immortal. It makes sense that he snapped but I only wished he could’ve left Jin Mi out of it :(

Her cry when she called out ‘Phoenix’ was so heartbreaking

This is one of the most romantic stories ever told. I watched this series 3 times and cried pretty much all the time. I am a huge C Drama fan. I just finished The Blue Whisper, which I highly recommend. The set, the acting, the story....its all too much. American dramas don't hold a candle to these dramas. Love, Love Love!!!!!!!!!

What killed Phoenix here is not the stab from Jinmi but the word "Never" from her. Even in that critical moment, Phoenix still asks if she ever loved him. Xufeng is a phoenix. That means he can easily rebirth through Nirvana but the moment he heard Jinmi said "Never", he cut off his way to live and fall onto the floor. The tear that falls before his death is like the tears of blood. Xufeng will never come back to life if the emperor doesn't sacrifice himself and collect the remaining souls of Xufeng. This is why I understand every cruel act he did to Jinmi after that although at the same time I feel bad for Jinmi too. This scene, I really admire the performance from the actress and actors (including Luo Yunxi). First of all, Luo Yunxi's expression after Jinmi killed Xufeng is so on point and detestable. He really played Runyu's character very well. Yang Zi as Jinmi. This character is the heart of this drama. Her interpretation of Jinmi from cheerful girl to miserable girl throughout the series is amazing. The scene where she stabbed Xufeng then when the elixir removed from her body and the screaming. I can feel her PAIN. It's not easy to act for a character who can't feel any emotion and always clueless when it comes to emotion since human and emotion can't be separated. She deserves her title for the best actress post-90. Finally, Denglun as Xufeng/Phoenix. He performed the role of Phoenix very well. Honestly if someone asks me about phoenix in Chinese drama, the first person that ever comes to my mind would be Denglun. Even until now, I can't find anyone who can bring the character of Phoenix as good as Denglun. It's not just his acting but his appearance also really suits for phoenix. The interesting part when I search for Phoenix on Google. I found out about a term called "danfeng eyes" which is like a phoenix eyes. In ancient Chinese, those people who had danfeng eyes were considered as a rare beauty and Denglun are a few celebrities in China right now that have this characteristic, danfeng eyes. His acting for this scene, from the eyes, movements, micro-expressions, lines and sounds are all in place. What makes this drama good, it's not just because they have good plot but the biggest charms of this drama is actor/actress who play the characters in it. The chemistry between Yang Zi and Deng Lun are so amazing. I will definitely love to see them pairing again in another drama. P/s: Denglun is currently filming for his new drama called Night Wanderer. It's been a while, can't wait to see him acting again! And the plot of the drama is very interesting and very novel so I'm really looking forward to this project. I desperately really need some fresh content from cdrama lol. Previously, I really enjoyed watching drama Rattan.

El odio que senti por Jin Mi fue real, la odie tanto porque después de matarlo se puso a gritar y tipo "hermana pa que lloras si tu misma te lo echaste ", pero también en parte la entiendo ella pensaba que él fue el que mato a su familia. Por eso esta escena es de las mejores en los dramas asiáticos, te hace meterte en la piel de cada personaje y entenderlo y a la vez odiarlo. Todo esto fue causado por el emperador y la emperatriz, el karma de ellos fue ver morir a su hijo y el karma del emperador fue ver como sus hijos se mataban por una mujer, tal y como sucedió en la historia de él, su amigo y el hada de las flores.

Honestly, people are calling Run yi heartless or a villain. But in truth, he isn't. What he did to Jun mi and such was wrong, however all he did was a result of the empress and the emperor. His mother was ditched and then killed, all of his clan slaughtered and how the empress has always treated him cruelly and the emperor turning a blind eye. This was a domino effect of the emperor and empress, honestly though this whole show is. Not just Run yi but also the floral goddess as well

I don’t hate her for stabbing her lover. She was hurt and she had temptation for getting revenge which clouded her judgement. That feeling she had is the same feeling you get when you love someone so much and you go through great lengths just to be with them or get revenge for them. She stabbed him cause she saw a false visual of her lover killing her father that she just known. That feeling also occurs to the real murderer. The murderer had feelings for the Phoenix since the start and her jealousy took over her after jin min came into the phoenix’s life. The murderer would do anything to get rid of jin min and be together with the Phoenix. Thats what i call a love triangle.

Gosh!!! Runyu looks much prettier & softer than the FL here. After hearing all the raves about the series, The only character that captures me here is Runyu. Totally understand why he did it. I can’t stand any of the XF & JM characters. They are so boring self righteous one dimension. JM is just so dumb & annoying. XF pity his brother, not respect. See & do things with RY from a superior spoiled privileged position. RY is a dragon, not lesser than phoenix in anyway, but to survive the evil stepmother he’s not allowed to shine or be better, while XF was being encouraged in every way. Everything he said here was right. Put yourself in his shoes and you will get it. Leo did such a splendid job portraying the character.
