I'm sorry, I acknowledge that there's women that feel like this, but to just blanket statement say that this is probably a bigger issue for women than men immediately gives fuel to Dax's reasoning for the song. Why doesn't he feel comfortable or secure in telling me? Just know that as men, we have often immediately regretted opening up, and doing the exact same thing your frustrated at him for not doing. The second on hit so real. I was raised by my grandparents and it wasn't so much raised as given a place to grow up. My grandpa was retired and did nothing but fish and sit around the house. I had to try to figure out how to be a man and I fucked it all up severely till about 4 years ago when Tom Macdonald gave me a light to get out of the darkness. Almost 50 now and I am alone and pathetic. I do not use my past to make excuses though. My actions were 100 percent my responsibility. as a man who spent years feeling this way in my late 20s i went to therapy to finally deal with my past. and i think problem is the divide in what each we are taught growing up. for men its being told from father, adults, peers we get taught to keep the emotions inside deep. so when they finally do come out we dont know how to handle them so they come out like a dam breaking and it looks like Anger, uncontrollable crying, self deprecating when all we need is someone to listen and steady us. but problem is alot men have partners/GFs who see that "anger,crying" and them bad eggs teach them men "ow so everyone was correct to keep it locked away" and it just causes more divde between women and men. for any man reading this and get angry and direct it towards women Dont brother, becuase there are good eggs out there and the women in your past dont define all women they go through simlar stuff we arnt aware of too. and seek therapy, even Online groups who are going through simlar stuff can help. (you arnt alone in what your feeling and there are people out there who and willing to help you climb out of that dark hole.) Peace!

I think it is important for the people in these comment sections to remember something. Understand that we men have been changed by the pressures of culture, our early childhood experiences, TV and commercials, our parents, absolutely infinite generations of social norms and momentum. Please remember that women also grew up in this exact same culture, media etc. Using Dax's song to attack women who are exploring this topic is the most inefficient thing you can do if you truly want her to listen and learn your feelings and experiences as a man.
