This talk was part of the "Nations United" event that marked the beginning of International Education Week at Champlain College. Here, I delve into a part of my story to understand the multifaceted nature of being an "alien" in the United States. This narrative touches on the legal definitions and emotional experiences of immigrants and non-immigrants. It's a story of seeking refuge, establishing a new home, and the complex emotions of leaving behind a former life. This presentation is not only about adapting to a new culture but also about the resilience needed to forge a new identity while embracing one's true self.
