Speaking in shul is such a horrible aveira. This is the House of Hashem and many religious men view it as a meeting hall. Watch how muslims pray. There is not a whisper. They are more devoted in their mosque that we can ever be. This is a epic war between the children of Yisroel and yishmael. Whoever prays the hardest with the most devotion will win the war. Yishmael has Hashem's name in it. Shame on us for desecrating our shuls.

Well to be fair: 1) God simply means "deity" in the english language, so no need to worry about the profanation of Hashem's actual Name. 2) It is a sign of respect that even though "God" is not the Name of Hashem, it is still to demonstrate that even within other languages, the fear of God is still upon the person (as when people say God, especially with the captial G, they most likely mean Hashem)

Jews are commanded to NOT say/swear in the name of G-d. Our G-d is written this way to distinguish our G-d from all the gods of the nations/world. Our G-d is the only ONE TRUE G-D. He is not a man like the NT. We are NOT mocking HaShem/G-d. We don't deal with other names like this. It is only with the tetragrammaton NAME of HaShem. Isn't it a shame to mock our faith and tradition? Don't just assume anything Jewish.

@@amygregory4981: common sense: do you call your biological father by his first name? Culturally all over the world no one dares to call his father by his first name. We call him father, dad, papa, abba here in Israel... etc How did that come about? Our Oral Torah teaches it more indept how we Jews honor, respect and revere the Only ONE TRUE G-D of the Universe.. Leviticus 19:12---12 And ye shall not swear by My name falsely, so that thou profane the name of thy G-d: I am HaShem.( source: Jewish virtual Library).

@pardes7342 yes of course i know from the 3rd Commandment not to take THE NAME YHWH in vain or to swear falsely by it , He is Kodosh , read the Psalms all of Them and please read 1 Samuel chapter 17 verse 45 , David sais He comes In The Name Of YHWH the Elohim of Yisra'el, and read 2 Kings the whole book Elisha only Refers to the Elohim of Yisra'el as YHWH,also read the book of Isaiah , make sure your reading it out of the real Torah with YHWH , on every page , your whole Torah , He refers to Himself as YHWH The Elohim of Yisra'el, in Exodus Moses only refers to the God of Yisra'el as YHWH , Jeremiah only refers to the God of Yisra'el as YHWH
