Kinda like life, if you don't bend........ you break ! 😊 Thanks for sharing and take care. 👍

Ken Gamble, very true. 🙂

The first time I picked up a 5 yard bucket of concrete in a tower crane I almost crapped my pants. I went from about a 5 degree up angle, looking over the mountains, to a 5 or more down angle looking straight out to rooftops!!

Those man lifts are some dense pieces of equipment.

Jimmy's Tractor, a lot of iron in them for sure!

I had no idea they could weigh so much

I wouldn’t have noticed that unless you put the mark on there. How many tanks are you working on?
@ToTheTopCrane6 жыл бұрын
G4 Outdoors we are..or should say were just working on one. The far one just had a few minor repairs that need taken care of. The close one is getting all new equipment installed. There will be a video soon. ☺

A scissor lift weights 4.5 tons? Cool demonstration of “deflection”.
@ToTheTopCrane6 жыл бұрын
02pwrstrk the scissor lift weighs about 8400lbs according to the scale in the crane. The pill (ball) on the crane weighs 661lbs. My gross on that pick was just a touch over 9000lbs.

What was the angle on the boom? Does the crane logic prevent you from over deflecting the boom and bending a section or do you work to information from load tables?
@ToTheTopCrane6 жыл бұрын
Chris Rowland if I remember correctly, the boom angle was around 23 degrees. The crane computer monitors the amount of load that is being applied and will give a warning if it senses that we are getting close to capacity. I primarily use the load charts to determine how I want to configure the crane for a particular job. Great questions! Thanks for following along.

How do you compensate for boom deflection do you boom up and cable down
@ToTheTopCrane4 жыл бұрын
Typically to compensate for boom deflection, it's just a matter of booming up to the required radius.

The boom deflection is kinda like having a big fish on the hook. :-)
