Yes. Buthan and Oceania must watch this video. I know tobacco isn't 0% risky, but people don't even know that tobacco was used for medicine and lots of people enjoy cigar and pipe. Sadly most of this world is just anti nazi.

I've just recently found out that nicotine is widely misunderstood. Tobacco is demonized and nicotine is always linked with cancer and other health issues. But it is never explained what is actually harmful...the nicotine from the tobacco plant or the 100s of chemicals that are added into the cigarettes and the wrapper. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and reminding us of the sacredness of the plant.

The reason tobacco kills people is because they spray it with chloride. It’s hard to find natural tobacco that hasn’t been treated this way. I believe all pre packaged cigarettes have this problem. I use peter stokkabye pipe tobacco. My favorite is the Danish blend, but they have several other options that are also great. It’s one of the few brands that doesn’t spray poisons on it. It’s best to buy it in bulk from a reputable tobacco supplier instead of the pre packaged stuff. I smoke it frequently and I am a marathon runner. Regular cigarettes are poison… and I believe it’s intentional.

@multorumunumsmoking anything is carcinogenic, by technicality. I may be wrong but I think even marijuana smoke is carcinogenic even though the biological components themselves are not. Maybe this is true for naturally grown tobaccos as opposed to the commercialized, profit-oriented tobaccos that many of us are familiar with today.

@multorumunum they say that, buy I am healthy and athletic and smoke my own “rollie” cigarettes daily. Stay away from pre packaged cigarettes and don’t buy tobacco from a mini mart if you wish to smoke.

I live in Portugal and here tobacco grows really well. We grow quite a lot of it for ourselves, no additional chemicals, just the way it is meant to be.

I am from Sweden and we use tobacco snus, it is much healthier than to smoke a pack of cigarettes a day. I have started to grow tobacco, I agree it is a sacred medicinal plant.

Only if cigarettes companies stop pouring chemicals to pure leaves.. And I don't get it for using snus or hookah as alternatives to cigarettes.

Remember, snus is prone to doing more damage in the mouth and gums, that can lead to cancer. Make sure to rotate where you put the snus in your mouth at least.

Yes it's the abuse of any tobacco which can make us sick and addicted. When used moderately it is a totally different experience. Now I'm not claiming I use it moderately, but I try to when I use it out of my pipe, and with nasal snuff. It feels much better this way, than when I abuse it all day and night. But I agree as well and see the importance in respecting the plant.

I’ve often wondered how indigenous peoples would have used tobacco medicinally. Not only can one consider set, setting, and intention, but also the will power to not over use it. I consider all the plants as teachers; had it not been for poison ivy getting in my eyes, I wouldn’t have made it s life goal to identify as many local plants as possible! If breaking an addiction to tobacco teaches us anything it’s will power. And even when one is going through withdrawals from over use, that is a good time to reflect on issues that need to be fixed in one’s life. Currently I have a cold, and I’m using tobacco (snus chew packets) medicinally, as they really seem to sooth my sore tonsils. Many people end up stopping smoking when they get a cold, but I figured maybe the plant can be used to treat the cold, so long as I discontinue use once the cold has passed.

Indeed it is. When I was little I attended a pipe ceremony and I was allowed to smoke from the pipe and I was told to think good thoughts and think of my ancestors as I smoked. I was too young to fully understand but I did what I was told and I felt something. It was an incredible experience

8 million people every year die from tobacco use. Native americans on average die 20 years younger due to heavy use of tobacco and alcohol.

Man, wish I could give you some pointers, because a buddy of mine had an uncle that grew tobacco...but they're no longer alive for me to ask them any questions. And their death had nothing to do with tobacco by the way.

I'm reading a book called "Smoke Screens" by Richard White right now. I'm not yet fully comfortable vouching for his research, but the book claims that there is still no scientific proof that smoking is a cause of lung cancer. Or any other disease, for that matter. Very little tobacco outside of cigarettes is "polluted". Despite them talking about warning labels and such, standard pipe tobacco you'll buy around the world is just tobacco, maybe some glycerin to keep it moist, and maybe some baking soda to keep the pH levels from burning your tongue.
