My 95 year old Mom has cancer in her stomach and has been the biggest Toby Keith fan since the mid-1990's when I first heard Toby on the radio and introduced her to his music. As I bought his CDs I would record his songs on cassettes for her because she didn't want CDs. She was and still is so sad that he got stomach cancer and passed at 62. She was so, so sad when she heard he was gone it was a shock to hear he wasn't here anymore even though we, like everyone else, knew his cancer was so severe and she said, "He was so young he shouldn't be gone at this age." Then in July this year (2024) a CT scan finds tumors in her stomach but it's caused from Lymphoma. When she was told she had tumors in her stomach she said, "Well, I guess I'm just like Toby with stomach cancer." I have cried a thousand tears since then (today is 8/15/24) and we have no idea what stage she's in or how long she has left as she doesn't want further tests and of course she doesn't want surgery or chemo. She is so fatigued. She has nausea and dizziness and other symptoms and sleeps a lot. Hospice has been set up. A nurse comes. I'm going to lose the best Mother any daughter could ask for. When Toby passed away I told my Mom, "One day when you arrive in Heaven and get to meet Jesus ask Him if He will introduce you to Toby." She said, "Okay". I just didn't know it would be this soon. She's 95 and has had a life of great health. I just don't want to let go and say goodbye.

My Mom does have stomach cancer with tumors and spots on some lymph nodes in her leg. They think the cancer has gotten into her lymphatic system but it's not lymphoma. I just got a photo of her as I live so far away. She's losing so much weight. I think her cancer is further along than they think. She told me months ago she was feeling more and more tired all the time but we still had great conversations every day and texts. Now she can't take a phone call and after answering one question with one sentence she starts to fall asleep. This is the latest information I got on Sunday from my niece who spent several hours with my Mom. She's an RN. I'm so distraught and all I do is cry all day and night. I'm trying to figure a way to go see her. It's 2300 miles and my health isn't good. Truthfully I'm ready to leave with her when she goes. I hope God takes me with my Mom at the same time. Thank you so much for caring and listening.

9/11 was 6 months after his dad died. Tough year for the Keith family.

I was 8 when 911 happened and i understood exactly what happened. I told my mother and father "one day i am going to go after those bad guys". Well i did eventually. This song gave me extra motivation when it came out. Now i am a disabled veteran and i truly appreciate Toby's music and i will until i die

After hearing of Tobi Kieth's passing I was saddened. When I was a Freshman in High School I always said no to listening to Country music. Well, I heard Tobi and I am a listening. May he R.I.P.

They decided to go see Merle in concert. They went backstage to say hi to Merle who had pneumonia that night. He asked Toby how many of his songs he knew. Toby said ALL OF THEM. Merle managed to sing 4 songs and Toby sung the rest of the concert for Merle. Patriot and a great friend. RIP LEGEND !!!!!

Toby has been in my house since my daughter became a fan in the late 90s. He had me when this song came out. Been a solid fan ever since. He fought the greatest fight with cancer. Now, he is in glory. Sure will miss him and look forward to singing with him in heaven. Bless your heart Toby, you sure were a bright light in this ol world.
