My life kinda got too busy to watch the series in full as the episodes came out, but I made _absolutely sure_ to go back to this one when I had the time. Suffice to say, it was worth the wait! Also, I get very few opportunities to brag about this, so I'll do it right now: I got to meet Craig Lowndes at the Adelaide Motorsport Festival this year! He even took a picture with me, and my motorsport buddies on Facebook (as well as my mum) got their minds completely blown when they saw it. Funny story, I actually wanted to see if I could get a look at Valtteri Bottas, who was guest driving a Holden V8 Supercar at that same event; that said, I'm certainly not gonna complain about what I got instead!

Life should always come first! These vids aren't going anywhere :P But it seems like you had a fantastic time at the AMF! I did get a photo of Ash Sutton when I went to Thruxton in 2021, needless to say, he was a right miserable sod. So I don't have the same good vibes but at least I got him standing next to his, then, Infiniti

I believe that is Anthony Tratt's last full time drive car. I think in the real '05 season he had a VY Commodore. He then joined the HSV Dealer team as reserve driver the following year. I miss Pukekohe Park raceway as well, wish they hadn't closed it for car racing. Such a great circuit. Voted for the Palmer Jaguar JP1 in the poll :)

Aw man I didn't know they closed Pukekohe as well. Similarly to Oran Park then? Redeveloped for housing or just left for nature to take over again?

@@Dan-Bartlett Not quite. The facility is still there, but redevelopments to the horse racing track inside it meant the circuit was closed in April this year and motor racing is no longer possible.

The 2nd race was the most perfect, I really thought you were going to finish 2nd in the championship after you went off the road. Wonderful

I think that was the 7th or 8th attempt at that start. All the times before they kept wrecking me before the chicane so I got very lucky!

RIP Pukekohe. That's certainly the first time Anthony Tratt's car has seen a Supercars championship victory. Nice one. I really like that the career takes you to the smaller venues for this one. Pukekohe, Symmons Plains and Hidden Valley are 3 of my favourite tracks in any video game.

My favourites would definitely be Pukekohe and Symmons Plains, particularly the latter. Handbraking around the hairpin is great fun!

See, you know a championship is good when A) Scotty can get away with only minor lambasting and B) Dan drives with only minor Scottish anger. :p If the Ultima Can-Am represents Race Driver 3 at its worst, the V8 Supercars represent Race Driver 3 at its best...

You can tell the developers spent more time on the official championships. The DTM has similar characteristics to the V8's. They feel really solid and planted to the track. The other championships are literally just padding to elongate the game. And personally the worst championship so far were those dirt track machines where putting on the sim options rendered your car useless

@@Dan-Bartlett Some of that padding seems to work better than others, though, I feel. Yes, things like the off-road series and the Ultima do feel like an afterthought. But other series such as the Japanese car series didn't look too bad from a driving standpoint...

Aw man, could you imagine? Especially if they remastered all three of the RD series as a bundle and got rid of the stupid AI pathing and rubber banding, soft-body physics and a total overhaul of graphics. I'd be down to clown if that were to come to fruition!

No, every version of the game has its own differences. I'm unsure as to the extent of the changes besides version name and some championship differences

When it comes to average racetrack quality Australia is simply king, no other country compares. I'm yet to see a bad track there lol, shame you barely race on them on this game(except Eastern Creek and Barbagallo, you get tired of these real quick).

Canberra wasn't much to write home about, but that's a street circuit, so that may or may not count...

For me Pukekohe is still my favourite track of the bunch, along with Symmons Plains. They're just incredibly good fun! But yeah I agree, they're just not used as much as they should be

@@Dan-Bartlett. I'm not here to start a debate, you're free to hold any opinion you like. But I remember watching the 2002 V8 Supercars highlights reel with my mum, and when Canberra came around, we were bored out of our skulls. The rest of the reel was super fun to watch, though! Also, thinking about it, it's a bit unfair of me to say street circuits might not count as proper tracks. Yeah, there's a fair share of stinkers, but then you have places like Townsville and Adelaide (the latter being my home circuit), and they're some of my favourite stops on the Supercars schedule.

@@TotoDG For me Adelaide doesn't feel like a street circuit. Not like the ones they have on other series these days, F1 as an example. Similarly to the track layout during the Birmingham Grand Prix era. They never felt like street circuits because more care and attention went into them back then. Townsville is another good 'un along with Surfers Paradise and Newcastle. Cracking scenery, too!
