This Golf needed to run and that was today's goal...
We sort of got there....The next part will show it hopefully ticking over perfectly...; )
This is a new start with this Golf even though it has featured before....Thanks for watching.

well done mate good vid looks easy enough , might have a go ,fuel pump wont stop running so i was thinking of taking filter off ,but a bit daunting, so i am ok to go now thanks.

Mk2 "expert" here. Yeah you can more than easily replace those crimped lines with standard fuel hose. Those look like the factory clips and hoses which seems to me that it's never been replaced. Check the lift pump as well inside the tank. They tend to go first which is what kills the main pump.

Hi, that pump has already gone, i tried to start it the other day.....I have a replacement, do you think the lift pump has killed it?

If the main pump has gone again. Then I would definitely be looking at the lift pump in the tank. Easy to do. Access via the boot floor. New pumps are around 30quid or so. Apologies for the late reply.

Have u ever had the captive nut that hold the main pump brake free so the long bolt holding the pump just spins

If the in tank pump doesnt prime and also cannot be jumped from the relay box, is my main pump dead? It was brand new when I installed it and drove the car for a couple hours. Next morning, went to fire it up and the in tank pump no longer primes

Just stumbled across your channel, love the hot hatch vids and got a mk2 gti myself. I have just put a mk3 tank and pump set up in mine as my pump was leaking and the mk3 stuff is alot simpler set up. Keep up the good work mate.

Hi, I'm glad you did! That pump has failed again, so I think the lift pump has gone. I have both to replace this time. Did consider the mk3 tank option. Thanks for watching.

@@Gfix109 I have a vr6 engine in mine so made sense to swap the fuel system out for the mk3 set up. Prity straight forward swap and alot tidier

@@Gfix109 one of the last mate, 1992 big bumper. Vr6 engine was fitted in 1998 with 22k miles (matching clocks fitted too) on it by a local vw specialist. It has just turned 42k. I got the car about 5 years ago. That's an early one then mate, not many of those left now. Does it need much doing to it?

Currently Replacing the pumps, and filter on my MKII golf. Have been watching these videos for fun. While watching I noticed you had some LED thing flashing the dash you put some type of fob up to to stop blinking... What is that? some sort of alarm?? Thanks. Enjoyed the vid.

I have a problem with my GTI MK2, when i start the engine "first contact" i dont hear the voice of the pump (bzzzz) as it makes on 11:42 minutes..... can anyone help me where is the problem????

Lol... fuel pump housing.. that model didnt have accumulator.you lucky devil. The 16v GTI has accumulator and filter plus pump.. I didnt change factory hoses yet. But if suspect leaks in future will change. Yes all old kjet seems to require a bit of pedal when starting.
