Cost about 50 bucks to take my family to McDonald’s which means we don’t go anymore which means we’re actually living a healthier life cooking at home. It’s a win-win.

Use the app. If you're paying $50 at Mcd, idk what to tell you, that's pretty dumb. The other day I went (I live in the Seattle area so it's more expensive here than your avg place), and I spent $7 for 2 quarter pounders and a McChicken. They pretty much have the buy one get one free deal running non stop. Compare that to eating out which is $30+ per person. I do agree that home cooking is the way to go and that's what I have always done but it really isn't that expensive... Unless you don't use the app and waste your money on meals (the fries and drink are so not worth it).

The McDonalds in Tijuana had big Mac and quarter pounder combos for 130 pesos but they just closed permanently at the beginning of the year. I guess they weren't making enough money. That's the only McDonalds I would got to as it's about 7.50 USD = 130 pesos. So half the price of a big Mac combo in the USA

People are going to other fast food or dine in restaurants as you can get a better quality meal for the same or lower cost if you do some research. Arbys, Subway, Burger King, Burgerville, Wendy's, taco Bell, Chipotle, Chic-fil-A, have just as good of meals at lower or equal prices if you are in to fast food. @foxykins
@foxykins 4 ай бұрын
@YesYou-zy7kp The minimum wage hadn't been raised since 2009 and finally went up in 2019. The wage for employees who made tips was just 2.13 an hour because the customer was expected to supplement their wage. 7.25 for everyone else. Did McDonald's refuse to raise their prices in that time? Were groceries the same price as they were a decade prior? Are workers supposed to keep getting poorer as inflation continuously outpaces any wage increases they may receive? Why did the prices go up while McDonald's and other fast food companies had saved tons of money by replacing employees with kiosks and an app to pre-order? If you're going to lick the corporate boot, do it in private. It's gross.

@@Sam-oo6wythat’s not true, atleast not for all items. For example, dairy products have come down in cost to around pre pandemic levels over where I’m at. Meat prices are up but grains like rice are still super cheap. Potato’s are expensive and up but sweet potatoes are still about the same. If you eat healthy and are not picky you can make things work. Cooking at home will always be cheaper

It’s called propaganda. The news media try to convince people of a false narrative that food prices are going down. This is why people need to take anything the news media says with a grain of salt, it’s just one lie after another.

Spent $41 on a few burgers, 20 chicken nuggets and fries for 4 people. Took 30 minutes because no one spoke English as a first language and the order was half missing and wrong. Everyone was ignoring the front counter so it took forever to get ahold of anyone. All for some deeply unhealthy food product. I stopped going there, it's not worth it. I'm currently questioning if I should sell all my shares of MCD.

How could they do an entire story about the rising prices of fast food and not mention the $20 per hour minimum wage for fast food workers in CA and the $18-plus per hour minimum wage is many large cities in other states. It isn't the cost of food that is driving the increases in costs at restaurants.
