I remember traveling to New York City and New Jersey from Texas back in 2003. I was on a business trip to look at some machine my plant was going to purchase from a company in New Jersey that could chop up chunks of very hard plastic into small pieces. Our first day there was sort of just a free day and we toured New York City including taking a photo of Sparks Steak House which didn't go over well with the people watching the front door of the steak house. The next day we joked about it to the New Jersey guys and none of them laughed. People don't joke about the mob up there and take any mention of them seriously. I was sort of glad to be getting back on the plane to Texas before I got whacked for being a disrespectful tourist. I live in Louisiana now.
