He left twelve men and to one of them He gave the keys of the Kingdom, and He left Peter in charge of the Kingdom here on Earth to establish a visible church... He left the first Magisterium of the Catholic Church, the first Apostles and bishops headed by Peter and then they taught, and for what they taught, came the apostolic tradition. Our Lord Jesus taught the Apostles and the teachings of the Apostles were preserved in the Catholic Church by the bishops, who are like the caretakers of what the real TRUTH is. Once again, Jesus didn't leave a book: He left men and those men gave a teaching and part of that teaching was written down. We would not have a New Testament today if it were not for the authority of the Catholic Church. It took the Catholic Church four hundred years to put together all the books of the New Testament - 27 books, not 26 or 28... How do we know that? Because the Catholic Church and the Councils of bishops determined that, so there can be no such a thing as the Bible alone; therefore, the Roman Catholic Church is the one true church whose interpretation of the Sacred Scriptures is infallible!

The Bible does have a lot of contradictions in it especially when it comes to the Old and New testament. The Scripture is all correct. People's interpretation of it may not be. Heresy happens when you separate from the One True Holy and Apostolic Church and start adopting the 'bible alone' doctrine (another heresy). Only the Catholic Church is free from heresy as far as interpreting and teaching the Word of God goes.

So if scripture is all correct, and everything I said above is scripture, that means Carlton Pearson is correct. And the Catholic Church free from heresy??? OMG! Now I see how deep this stupidity runs.

They aren't stripped of context or misinterpreted. Once again, please explain the misinterpretation of "love does not keep a record of wrongs." Please explain the misinterpretation of "his mercy endures forever." Please explain the misinterpretation of "He is the Savior of all men." Please explain the misinterpretation of "By one man's disobedience, all died. By one man's obedience, all are made alive." Please explain the misinterpretation of "It is finished." Please explain the context of "not counting men's sins against them." The entire story of the Bible taken as a whole is a story of reconciliation and redemption. So anytime the Bible contradicts that story, reconciliation and redemption wins. The simply fact is that fundamentalist Christianity has perpetuated the wishes of the Catholic Church, who established a structure or fear and control. So truth sounds like a lie when one has always believed the lie.

The Bible is also riddled with scriptures that say things that if taken at face value are clearly wrong. It states that the Sun was stopped in its course around the Earth, it implies that God does not know things because He asks people questions, has to send Angels to find out if things He's heard are true or not, allows Satan to test Job to find out whether Job is really faithful in his heart (as if He didn't already know). Just because something is in the Bible does not mean you have to take it at face value. I know that's scary, it's easier to think that you have THE manual for life on Earth, but that's not what the Bible is, the Bible is a starting point for wrestling with issues of God, life on Earth, meaning, Eternity, etc... it's not a debate ender it's a debate starter. The "God said it I believe it, that settles it" mentality is a cop-out. It's spiritual laziness.

I think you mean turned into zealots. The bible is a fable written by men. No God came down and gave us the bible all written and perfect. It's just like any other ancient book written by various men that included myths and histories re-imagined decades and centuries after the fact. That is why it often contradicts itself.
