Todd. I hope that someone will pass this on to you. I live 35 miles southwest of Chicago Illinois. For many years, there was a "club" of about 15 people, who would all keep their eyes and ears open for any word of you coming within about a days drive of us. We would sound the alarm. Before you knew it, there was a phone tree working overtime to gather every scrap of intelligence relating to your visit. We initially formed our little family waiting outside of the clubs for the doors to open for one performance or another. Eventually we got to form a family. All centered around you. We love you. We sacrifice to see you. We miss you. A few of us have actually met you (myself and ex-husband included). My ex-husband and I would catch wind of an upcoming tour. We then arranged to obtain tickets. Once tickets were secured, we would act as our own travel agents. We would do whatever it took to be there. We Would scrimp and save Book a hotel Research one good meal to be had the evening before the performance all other food was from fast food and gas stations For many years our vacations and eventually our honeymoon (and wedding date) were all scheduled around your tour dates. We got married at the Will County Courthouse in Joliet Illinois on October 12th 2006. Then we had a reception at our local pizzapalooza. The very next morning we loaded up the car and drove to Bowling Green Kentucky. We had a absolutely fantastic road trip. We pulled into Bowling Green at about 3 am. We checked in and passed out on the still made bed. After about 12 hours of sleep, we decided to explore Bowling Green. It was a great town. Very friendly locals. We went back a couple of times for vacation. I have seen you live many times. It has been years since last time. Beer Run was our song. He hosted an open mic night at a shit hole bar on a smelly canal. B & B Riverclub, along the I&M Ship and Sanitary Canal. The stench was terrible on a hot summer night. Guys working on barges are very friendly folks. We got the to dock up and drop anchor outside. Good hardworking salt of the earth people. One night I attended the open mic night with my mom. Billy Osman played Beer Run while waiting for the next group of musicians to take stage. I greeted it with extremely loud enthusiastic accompaniment. Our eyes met. The rest was history. We loved you then. We love you now. ✌ + ❤ = happiness 😊 ✨

I saw him in Nashville, 2001.... as his concert was progressing I took my binoculars out and scanned to the far left of the stage and I saw John Prine; he and his group had came out of their Bus --- because of all of the noise and laughter that Todd Snider was getting... John Prine, was laughing and clapping with his people.... "saying,,, look at that little shit, go.." The crowd was so into it; and Todd,,,, ..... is so ..... damn-ly ..good.

I just happened upon this video as a George Strait song played right before it. Since it's my birthday and I could not sleep, I thought I would listen, because the sun is not up yet and I have time on my hands. I never heard of this guy, probably the age gap. However, I listened and enjoyed his stories, but am I to understand he is a comedian? I did not get his humor. That is not a judgment now. I am hitting 54 so I have a different concept of humor which you have to have when you get A.A.R.P. invites in your mail weekly. Then I realize as I listen to Todd, that this video is from 2007. Well, I remember 2007, but I do not remember him. Anyway, you can tell he worked out all these stories, has a great memory because he rambles just like I am doing now, only he can make everything make sense even though he has run-on sentences that are bases-loaded grand slams...speaking of baseball....

I've seen him several times before during and since the time he put this out. This was by far when he was at his best. The crowd interaction and song lyrics were great, and you can really tell he was practicing on that guitar. I loved his book, and I have met him a few times after shows, but now in some of his interviews he just seems a bit strung out. Same goes for on stage with HWA too. I hope someday he gets back to the 05-09 form.
