Well after about 56yrs, I've made up my mind on who the best drummer in the world is. Todd Sucherman (Styx)...in my mind is THE one. In a Genre where superstars and gods are made from their solos, I have NEVER for a second thought how great it would be to see a solo from him...it's just not needed and not sure how a solo could be any more impressive than what he does throughout the songs....the man is wicked..a beast....brilliant interpretation and feel....and I really like a lot of great drummers. So after 56yrs of living, breathing and dreamin' music...this piece of the puzzle is complete for me. hehe. Cheers to all that love a great drummer....oh and the rest too.

What an absolute badass.....like all drummers, I’ve had my favorite players through various stages of my life- for me (and millions of others) a few of them have been names such as Peart, Bonham, Colaiuta, Smith, Phillips, Copeland, Rich, and so many more...but I’ll tell ya- Todd is RIGHT UP THERE with the best players I’ve ever heard or seen. He’s phenomenal- and what’s even cooler is that he’s obviously a NICE GUY. Freaking hero.

As an amateur guitar player, what I really enjoy is the cymbal work. Why? It's not splashy, ringy...the crash cymbals decay in time. And the drums are perfectly tuned especially the snare...The entire kit is a complete instrument, not just a 'collection' of drums. Well Done.

1st of all :Todd's drum's sounds amazing ...a class act ...very accomplished (no shit right? LOL) 2nd: have nothing but respect for musicians (and the rest of the guys in STYX) who year after year play some of their old classics like they just recorded them...thats true professionalism...to still display a great attitude & willingness to go out & play night after night pretty much the same songs ...ALL the guys in STYX are total pro's in their field ..my hats off to them...

I have never been the largest Styx fan but I'd do a whole show just mesmerized by Todd. Well, that and I grew up a 'Gowan' fan when he was solo. Local Toronto boy. I'm also intrigued by how high he positions his snare drum. Just sayin'
