To be honest sometimes that is what you do and theirs nothing wrong with that, if anything adults having big emotions too shows kids it’s okay to have big emotions and how you eventually regulate yourself is a great modeling opportunity to show your child what healthy emotional regulation looks like

Some go as far as hitting them while asking them to stop crying. (Yes, it's sadly normal here) What she did was definitely a lot better than all the people I've seen dealing with kids.

@jyotsnamuppala2888 when you hug the kid while throwing a tantrum you promote the tantrum. You need to stay calm and show him how to control big emotions, and when he manages to actually control them, when he laughs or stays calm and communicates then you hug him. You reward when the kid learns something new, cooperates and manages his emotions. The mom here does a great job, the kid will be more mature than other adults in his life.

Most of them wish to be but lack the resources and overall well-being to do so. The reality of most parents is sleep deprivation and constant financial stress. Hard to be this calm. Every day goes a bit differently.

That's an important point! I want to be like that all the time, but I just can't when I am stressed from all the things on my shoulders or sad because of marital problems. My tank is often empty and I just can't behave in the right way. I keep on giving my best and working on myself. I hope I can be always that calm and empathic, soon!

I'm glad I learned these methods in parenting at a young age. How to love and support your little, and adult children their whole life long. I'm 72, and now my children have grown children, and the love and peaceful discipline remain. I have amazing kids and 10 grandkids !!! Hopefully this compassionate way of discipline will continue for another 72 years.😅

@@robyndismon394 I can understand why mohammed might say that, for example if the parent has had a bad day, it might not be easy for him or her to be calm and talk to their toddler in a calm manner like she's doing, but I think all parents need to make a big point in doing what you said and keeping calm so they can talk to their child calmly to make him feel better.

I love this ❤ it brought tears to my eyes because when i was a kid my brother and i used to get told off for showing emotions and we got punished. We would get told we cant have want we want/need and just have to suffer until we are allowed it because we were the child and they were the adults. Seeing parents like this teaching kids how to take care of their own needs and how to regulate is so beautiful 🥲 most people say this is what makes kids grow up to be snowflakes but actually it doesn't. we need more parents like this 🙏🏻💕

I am sorry its off the topic but why people let babies overuse binkies, most toddlers i have seen on internet have an overbite why make their little life difficult . Maybe there is something that i dont know but we grew up without it and no one in ny family have any problems with bites or jaw formation

I never found the toddler years difficult. Routine, proper planning and understanding triggers made for a wonderful experience. The toddler years are actually my favorite.

😂Watch out for "trigger words" though. I've known some little ones if you said "tired" or "take nap" would move from big emotions to hysteria because they recognized the trajectory towards going to bed and they hated to go to bed.🙄But Sweet Momma here, good job.🙂🙂
