Already hit subscribe. I’m a foster mom with a 15 month old beautiful mixed foster son and have been trying to learn as much as I can to take care of his hair but was having trouble finding a style to use on his hair right now due to uneven lengths. This is a life saver. I love his wild curls but he is always getting stuff tangled in his beautiful curls.

First I just want to say thanks for being a foster mom, that is an amazing thing you're doing; I hope to foster as some point as well! Secondly, I'm so happy that this video has been able to help you with your little ones hair journey. I know how hard it can be to embrace their natural curls while keeping it hydrated and free from other things. Spritzing with some water, and using a good cream (I suggest the Just for Me Curl Peace Defining Curl and Coil Cream) to help with definition and hydration. And thank you for subscribing 💙

Qaali Hashi thats very rude of you to say ! If you really must know, I’m Native American and as a culture our hair is our strength, we take care of it and grow it out, until my son chooses to cut his own hair then he can do so, not that I have to explain myself to you, just because he has long hair doesn’t mean he’s a girl 🙄💆🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

Your son is too cute! How old was he in this video? Or maybe a better question - at what age can you start styling their hair? I'm currently pregnant with a mixed baby boy and trying to learn as much about curly hair as possible. I'm really glad I found your channel. Thank you for all these tutorial videos!

Thank you 🙏🏽 You're so welcome and thanks for watching and enjoying! First of all, congrats! 💙 In this video Kham was just over a year old, but I say it all depends on the little one because they can start growing or having their hair come in at different times/ages. Kham just happened to be born with a full head of hair and it just kept growing from that day. So once you see your little one has enough hair to style without causing too much tension, because we don't want any pulling and straining of the hair cause that will cause breakage, then that's when you can start. Generally I'd think that's around 1/1.5 years old, not serious intricate styles, just basic stuff to keep his hair protected and retaining the length from his growth, but play it by ear and you can look through the videos when Kham's younger and see what works for you at that stage. @@keepingupwithkham No, nothing specific. I just searched for them and the first one that comes up. It's best for tangles for sure not necessarily for the smoothing back. I just got the basic one at Walmart to use on my boys. My oldest uses it in the shower as well when the hair is saturated and it's been a Godsend! Sent you a pic of what I use on IG

Katrienh Kate I don’t think there’s any products that would make it straight, you’d probably have to blow dry it, and if you want it even straighter then use a flat iron. But I don’t recommend heat when they’re young 🤷🏽‍♀️ heat damage isn’t fun.

Sorry I didn’t get your notification earlier, but the second product was just extra virgin olive oil that I had in a smaller bottle. You can use any oil that you like, olive oil was just my go to at this point.

I would say these products help with the maintenance of healthy hair which leads to growth. As long as their hair is moisturized, protected, and taken care of it will grow, I don’t know if there’s really any specific product that will make it grow 🤷🏽‍♀️

Honestly I think it was just luck that he listened when I started doing his hair. I started him in the high chair with snacks and an activity to keep him busy and since then he's always just known that when it's hair time he has to cooperate lol

Chris Kendrick Congrats to you both! I don’t consider Kham to be mixed, his dad is Jamaican and I’m Jamaican and St. Lucian, but Kham has Cuban and Surinamese from our grandparents if that answers the question 😩 Lol. Never too early to start watching and researching and saving up ideas!
