I need to adjust the alignment on a truck with 295/75/22.5 tires, how far from the floor do I need to make the mark? It appeared the block you were using was about 12"

When you used the block to make a line does the block have to be a certain measurement and if so about how long?
@timamyett4 ай бұрын
It needs to be about 10-12 inches off the floor .Just needs to be the same height on all 4 tires.

Do you lose both side of tie rod ends when you udjust one side or just one side ?
@malachij70264 жыл бұрын
You have to loosen both sides to turn the tie rod
@ericdavi12314 жыл бұрын
Tie rods don’t unscrew from the bar like that on big trucks after thousands of miles. Just buy the whole thing, bar and all.

What about keeping the steering wheel perfectly aligned while this adjustment is going on man? Thanks! If I straiten my steering wheel right now the left tire looks strait but the right tire looks turned in more than a half inch. The vehicle pulls hard left though all day and the left tire is wearing .

Hey did you ever figure out what the issue was? I am having the same problem on a 2016 Cascadia Freightliner.

I am looking for a way to adjust used tie rods on the shop floor without a pit or on stands. A demo of a partial truck that students take apart 200 times a year and never sees the road is not it.

Do u know what would cause a severe shake in the steering wheel
@RealSteelStreet3 жыл бұрын
@@chadgrant8143 bad tires or balance could definitely cause that but it'll usually be constant. However, incorrect tow in/out can cause that as well...my rollback shook badly right @ 65mph and was wearing the inside of the tire when I first bought it (bad enough I thought king pin could be bad) until I checked to find it towed out more than 3/8". Adjusted it 1/16" tow IN just like this video and swapped the unevenly worn tire with a good one from the rear and she's smooth as silk with no tire wear now 👍🏽

Reality check.....I do big Truck Alignments for a living, huge difference between a mock up, and actually Truck that has one million plus miles on it !....time to bring out your Sledge hammer , Your torch, and a 3/4 inch impact driver, and a very strong work bench and a very big vise that holds pipes!....and if your luck !!!...get it loose !....if not buy the whole tie-rod assembly and save yourself an hour or two!🤣😂🤣
