In this video, I'll share my listening tips and strategies to predict TOEFL listening questions. There are examples to prove my listening strategies. Wow I'm so thankful to God youtube recommended me this video, it helps a lot girl!! Bc all people said how to get a high score in 2 weeks but with good strageries, but you explain directly and specific details in each and specifically how to know it!! New member here, on June 13th I'm gonna do my toeft ibt test so wish me luck!! I will watch all your videos bc I am weak to have less good marks:) :

@@englishlearnervlog2622 About two months for listening, and three months for all. I focused on each question type of listening first. Then keep practicing for it while preparing for other section of TOEFL. Listening is hard to improve, so I recommend you start it early. Hope this helps ^_^

Hey Carrie. As I previously commented, I am a big fan of your videos and lessons. You wow me every time I watch these videos. I wanted to ask: could you recommend an order in which to watch your videos? I mean, are your videos organized in sequential order according to different sections in case one wants to learn the tricks of each section? Or, do you have a complete self-paced online TOEFL prep course that one could study (or could you recommend one)? I want to prepare for TOEFL. My English is quite good, but what I want to learn are cutting-edge strategies and tricks for different question types in TOEFL. Thanks a million!

Hi Fil. I'd suggest taking a mock exam first, and see how far you are away from your ideal score. And you could figure out your strengths and weaknesses. Then you could watch my video according to your situation. I organized strategies for different sections to different playlists like TOEFL Reading and TOEFL listening. In the playlist, there are overall strategies for that section and specific tips for each type of questions. In addition, there are general strategies & tips for four sections in the playlist TOEFL overall tips & strategies. Check out the playlist, and you could find the videos easily. When are you going to take the exam? Since your English is good, you could practice according to your own pace! Hope this helps. Good luck!

Hello Carrie, I hope you are having a wonderful day. I wanted to ask about the improvements in the TOEFL exam. Does it take more than a month or more than that? Since I have taken the mock exam multiple times, I seem not to have improved my scores by any chance. What would you recommend for me to reach my ideal score?

Hi Hanakoal it's a great questions. It's more important to understand the tips and strategies before practicing a lot of mock exams. According to your situation, I would suggest getting familiar with the tips & strategies. You will improve a lot within about 2 weeks

Hi, I am having a problem in the listening section, at the beginning, I got 19-21 out of 30, then I thought I need to improve more, but I am getting 15-17 out of 30 from 15 days of practice. Now I am frustrated.

Hi Hafijur No need to frustrated about the scores. They don't matter. Keep focused on why you didn't do well and how you can do better next time! Is it because the listening passages are some topics that you're not familiar? Or the practice materials that you used at the beginning are easier? Review the problems that you got wrong and keep practicing! Improving listening is a long process! Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions. Hope this helps!

@@hafijurrahman815 HIi Hafijur I feel you since listening is a little bit difficult to improve sometimes. It takes time! How long do you practice listening every day? I highly suggest listening as much as you can. And after finishing the practice, listen a few times with a faster speed. Check out the videos in my playlist called TOEFL listening. There some tips and strategies. @@CarrieJi Hi, I practice listening 2 hours every day, but, after watching your video, I guessed I should practice more. I am having a problem that when I take notes, I get disconnected from the story, and when I come back in the story, I miss some important information.

Hi Simran. For listening, you don't need to think too much about the question types. If you can understand all of the listening, you can answer all questions. And ETS deletes only one lecture from listening, but you still need to answer questions from lecture listening. So it's fine that you practice all listening on the old tpo website. Hope this helps. Can you explain how the final score are calculated? For example if you got 20 right questions out of 28. Some questions you need to choose 2 answers, how is that calculated?? Whats the average grade for people who reach more or less 20 right questions ??

@@lucianasantos3963 Hi Luciana. This is the reason for scaled score from ETS. “…despite the best efforts of test designers, no two test forms can ever be exactly alike. Each form is composed of different questions, which means that each test form differs slightly from other test forms in its level of difficulty. Therefore, number-correct (raw) scores are bound to a specific test form and are not directly comparable across forms.” If you take a mock exam on TPO websites, you will get an exact score. Or you can do the calculation. Here’s the easy formula: (RAW/33) * 30 = SCALED. It's on the website that I shared with you. Hope this helps!

Hi Salma. No worries. It's better to take a mock exam first to see how far you're away from 80. Then you'll know your strength and weakness for the test. Hope it helps.

Hi Odette It's definitely about the strategies. I met a professor in the ESL program. He's a native speaker and sometimes teaches TOEFL. He thought TOEFL was a monster! But since you're a native speaker, you will be fine after knowing all the tips and strategies! Do you mind telling me why you need to take TOEFL? And what's your ideal score? Hi Prianka. No worries. I got less than you at first. You will get a high score even higher than mine in the end. Just keep practicing and never give up! It takes more time to improve listening. It's great that you have already gotten started!

I have stuck on 20 for listening... would you please make a video in the lecture section and introduce all the materials you use for listening? Hi Elham Thank you for your comment! I'm glad that my videos are helpful. Your question is great since lectures are really hard! There is a lot of new vocabulary so we will get lost sometimes. I'd highly suggest you keep practicing listening and don't freak out if you don't understand some words. TOEFL will give you hints. I'll make a video to explain more details and tips. I'm still practicing although I finished TOEFL. We are together! Hope this helps!
