he said in an interview with sportsnet, he spent about 20 times going over it in his head, and he probably couldn't say it again right now.

Previous time Blackhawks selected Finnish player (Teräväinen) on the first round they also made a player (Saad) to announce selection. And then both Finnish players were traded out quite soon.

I assume some other team already picked the player they wanted, so they gave up the 26th pick.

Stan Bowman kind of blew it, bringing out Toews and Kane is supposed to be an exciting ordeal. Why does he sound so god damn bored? In fact, Toews and Kane look bored too, like they really don't want to be there. Just going from a script obviously.

Stan Bowman: I think it’s only appropriate for these two guys to do it. (Because I’m gonna get fired this year and these guys might not have a chance to draft someone.) From the 3rd overall pick in 2006 we selected your captain Jonathan Toews. (Because when I get fired he will takeover). And as the 1st overall pick in 2007 Patrick Kane. (Because when Johnny retires Kane will takeover because I got fired for trading some of our very best players for basically nobody).

I'll miss Hjalmerson...not lazy ass Panarin
@johnburk23557 жыл бұрын
Caleb Jura Panarin is on a 2 year deal and Saad is on a 5 year deal. They never would of been able to keep Panarin if he continued to play the way he did due to salary. He has been an important part of the regular season then turns into a ghost during the playoffs. Saad has has played with the Hawks and won 2 cups with them and is actually younger than Panarin. Plus with Hossa out they needed to make some moves. While it sucks it was a good trade. The hjalmarsson trade didn't make as much sense at first but whern you look at the salary it was pretty smart. With Keith and Seabrook ageing they needed a younger defensive core. If Ville Pokka can step up his game he could be a great NHL top 4 defensen. While Murphy's stats are total garbage he did play on the Arizona Coyotes. The Hawks also managed to free up about 5.2 million in cap space by getting rid of Panarin, Hjalmarsson, TVR, Motte and having Hossa enter LTIR. I bet they end up trading away the center they obtained and get another young defensive player. The Dallas trade made sense b/c they got exactly who they wanted while gaining another pick.
