Togoshi Ginza shotengai is said to be Tokyo’s longest shopping street with 1.3 kilometers of shops. And while several shopping streets across Japan have adopted “Ginza” in their name, Togoshi Ginza is said to be the first and only one with a direct connection to the original Ginza shopping district in Tokyo.
After the Great Kanto Earthquake struck in 1923, bricks from the rubble of Ginza’s disaster-struck buildings were used to pave the streets in Togoshi, and the name “Ginza” was also added for luck as the upscale shopping district had a prosperous image.
Now, Togoshi Ginza Shopping Street is a pleasant area to stroll around, with unobstructed views of the sky thanks to the lack of power lines. The area’s mascot Gin-chan can be spotted along the shopping street at several points, and there is an abundance of street food in Togoshi Ginza to try, from the classic croquette (korokke) to baked goods.

Another great video showing off Tokyo’s “not just sushi” food culture. Amazing how you stay in shape with all that delicious food you get to eat. Thumbs up for coffee milk in the glass bottles too.

When I was growing up in japan back in 60’s, croquettes were kid’s favorite dinner and also snacks. School told us not to eat on the way home from school but everyone did it. Just school president type were always mad. Oh the coffee milk was daily routine after we go to public bath. They had little refrigerator full of different flavors. I think even beer if I remember right.

That ball croquette looked sooo good, never had one that had oden food inside of a croquette. I thought it would be very hot when Shizuka took that first bite. That donut looked amazing too, very soft and chewy unlike donuts I have here in the states.

Nice episode ! The opening street shot has a great quality to it ! The light that day looked sublime. I've only been to Yanaka Ginza (and ofc. the main Ginza - a lot haha, since there's some of my fave bars) I`ll definitely have to check it out since I love menchi-katsu's and korokke. Coffee Milk is definitely great, I used to live on the 100 yen 1 Liter p;acks from the 100 Yen Lawson

Super awesome video as usual. I'm guessing the gluten-free treat filled with kinpira might be made with tamari instead of soy. I can't eat gluten and since soy has gluten in it, I'd have sharp stomach pain if I ate it. Keep 'em comin'!

You are so beutiful Sizu san. But your video is too filmy. I think better to see more realistic if the filter is just a normal version like other food videos, so the food is more mouthwatering. Actually you still beautiful with normal version without film filter like in Sony vlogs.
