Naraku was the main Villain controlling them as well btw. Also the more Miroku used the Wind Tunnel the more wider his wound would get and eventually if they didnt kill Naraku, he would be consumed by the Wind Tunnel just like his father was (Naraku was the one who cursed Mirokus family with the Wind Tunnel curse)
