If a murderer tries to kill a person but by the time they do, the law enforcement shows up, it’s still attempted murder. He just didn’t want the extra trouble, and had he not known what will happen to the curses geto stored, he probably would’ve killed geto too. Let’s not forget toji murked the maid for *0* reason at all. It makes more sense why it’s an attempted murder (because he fought with murdeous intent) than aggravated assault (self defense)

I can never get over the fact that Toji literally beat the racist into Geto, and essentially caused most of the series events to happen. Cause if Geto never went evil and, died chances are Kenjaku wouldn't have been able to obtain idle transfiguration or cursed spirit manipulation the backbone of his plans.

Fun fact about Playful Cloud: it's originally Toji's weapon, which is why he's so nasty with it. Geto got it from Toji's Inventory curse, and Gojo gave it to Maki after Geto died (but she has a bit of trauma about using it because of what Geto did to her). Also, it's the only special grade cursed tool that doesn't have a cursed technique engraved in it. Its strength is proportional to the strength of the user.

Despite being a deadbeat, in a weird way though, Toji kind of set up Megumi's life to be better than his no matter what happened 1. If Megumi wasn't adopted by Gojo, he'd get into the Zenin clan and as a competent sorcerer he'd be able to live a better life than Toji could provide to him 2. Since Megumi was adopted by Gojo, he didn't have to worry about financial troubles since Gojo is one of the richest sorcerers there is SPOILERS 3. If Gojo ever got incapacitated, Megumi would become the head of the Zenin clan, making him one of the highest ranking sorcerers in the Jujutsu society. Toji might've also subconciously chosen to keep on fighting Gojo because he remembered the bet he had with Naobito.

Sums it up perfectly basically. Heavenly goes into an in-depth analysis about all of this, and yeah, checks out. Toji got hazed and abused due to being a jujutsu-less “monkey” (Maki being a “mirror” of this, but took a worse abuse due to being a woman and twin), so he had a grudge, seeing Gojo as the highest example and disrespect to his life (since the Zenin said he’d never amount to anything compared to Sorcerers)

Also Toji is a special grade cause he beat Dagon alone. If Megumi grew up in the Zenin clan, i think he would probably end up like Gojo (Maybe without the arrogance).

Vegeta isn’t a deadbeat that’s why lol. He didn’t fw future trunks bc he didn’t know him like that. But by the end of the cell saga you seen the love he had for him. Esp when cell basically offed trunks. Vegeta went crazy. Deadbeats wouldn’t have done all that. You seen toji didn’t. As for regular trunks vegeta was always there. He had tough love for sure but he was for sure there. Actually he was there for him more than goku was there for gohan or goten. He sacrificed his self for his son and bulma and everyone else then came back and has been around ever since then. Vegeta is a lot of things but a deadbeat isn’t one of them for sure.

You know what's really cool about the Toji vs Megumi fight? It's said that Toji is working off of instinct - the instinct to destroy the strongest curse energy vessel (whether that'd be a user or a spirit) and after he mercs that special grade curse, the one he goes after is his own son! He does this before Jogo. So basically, Megumi has the confirmed potential to be one of the strongest characters in the show! This is even bolstered by his technique being able to go toe to toe with Sakuna. Honestly, I'm super pumped to see where the story and characters go.

@kishka5526 Yes because Megumi was draining curse energy to not just cut a hole in a pocket dimension but also stop the user's effects with his own domain expansion. Something Nanimi and the others COULDN'T do. There is no debate on this as Megumi's potential in strength is way higher than theirs. Curse energy is basically life energy in the story when you actively use it.

It has nothing to do with "life energy" or whatever agenda you're trying to push. He fights off based who was strongest in that specific moment If you were talking about "potential" then he wouldn't have targeted Dagon.

Toji is the father who goes out to get milk, then realizes he left it at home after he's been searching for years. Is he a dead beat? In a way. The way that's all his own. He's an absolute menace who has lost himself, never to be found again, there's a good father in there somewhere- But he's ascended to such a higher level of dead beatery that it's more accurate to say he went of to get milk for himself than for his family, man knew he'd cause nothing but problems for his son, so he removed himself from the equation. Like a father who fakes his own death so his child is raised as an orphan, but secretly plans to give all his child support and every Christmas possible all in one go. He walked out so hard that he left himself behind, nevermind his son. He been developing a whole new cursed technique called "Schrodinger's Child Support". The only way to know if he's a deadbeat or not is to open the box.

He recovered from that, met his wife, felt love for the first time, was prepared to actually live a life- Only for his wife to die after their kid was born. He started mentally deteriorating and he knew it so that's why he did the whole "selling his son" thing, because he didn't want his son to live like that and have to see him like that. The part that isn't mentioned is the gamble he made on his son's behalf. If nothing happens, yes Megumi gets sent to live with his family, but since Megumi has the cursed energy that he was never born with, he wouldn't be treated like Toji- However there was one event which would set his son for life if it happened. If Satoru Gojo dies, his son would become that clan's new leader. Making him rich and powerful for life. And then on top of that in his dying moments he literally had the only man stronger than him become his son's guardian and teacher. Toji effectively pulled all of the strings from beyond the grave to give his son the best odds possible, and never even wanted any acknowledgement for it. That ain't a father going to get milk, that's a father committing life insurance fraud to feed his children.
