Toji is the ultimate human being. He is the pinnacle of human potential. He has ZERO cursed energy, but get physical prowess in return. His case was one of the two options to end cursed spirits ever born. Unfortunately, his Zenin clan was so stupid and backwards that couldn't see his greatness just because he doesn't have cursed energy.

i don't think they're that engrossed in JJK tbh. they barely remember names, barely react when important shit is going down, barely remember stuff that was already explained in season 1 or jjk0. they aren't well versed with the power mechanics and cursed energy as a whole, so much so that they have to ask whether 'megumi's got a heavenly pact like his dad'. i think they're in it only for the animation, score/music and hype of it. there's nothing wrong with it, but yeah.

@@Abhi-cv4rn I agree, I nearly fell off my chair when the one guy asked if Megumi had a heavenly pact too. I mean we went an entire season showing Megumi summoning animals with his cursed technique. They've talked about his 10 shadow technique on several occasions. Plus he managed to make an incomplete domain utilizing his shadow abilities. Yeah, I don't think they're following the program too well.

Remember Mechamaru has a Heavenly Pact which mangled his body while giving him the ability to project his cursed technic over long distances.

tbf, the phrase kicks in more next episode with the rain/clapping sound design and exploring the fallout from these events. To the other bro's in this thread @Abhi-cv4m et al., that are talking about how they're not super engrossed, it's important to remember they're also fairly new to anime in general, and JJK does have a fairly complicated power system that a lot of us vets of the genre have gotten acclimated to following. Give them time, give them the ability to breathe and accept things as they go. Teji and Kobi are big fans and still get things wrong -- you just need to have a goddamn vision board to keep track of everything sometimes

Buddhism has a lot of self centered views when it comes to SELF realization and such. Very interesting topic, and JJK follows these themes in their writing, like Megumi getting his Domain Expansion after NOT wanting to sacrifice himself, risking throwing hands instead.

37:01 this is some good foreshadowing. Gojo asked Geto “should we kill all these guys” and Geto declined. But if you look at the colors, gojo’s side is red and geto’s side is blue which means Gojo does not agree with his own question while Geto agrees (Red: repels, Blue: pulls). My english isnt great but I hope you understand what I mean by this. You’ll understand it in the upcoming episodes.

Toji is easily one of my favourite characters in JJK. He's just such an absolute beast, and I love the concept of a guy that doesn't have any sort of complicated technique or powerful magic. He just has hands. Man showed up, beat the fuck out of literally everyone, and then died. Absolute chad. Also day 103 of recommending the opening and ending of "Spare Me Great Lord". It's a chinese anime, so slightly different to the stuff you've reacted to so far, but it's got some of the vibest music and animation I've ever seen.

i have some slight issues with him being able to hide cursed energy inside his body somehow and still be undetectable and he is just wasted potential in Shibuya but he is pretty cool overall

At the very end of episode 4, you can see Geto's side of the screen in blue and Gojo's side in red, and generally blue means negativity and red means positivity, so it's a cool element they added to the episode to show Geto's gradual decent into negativity

Toji refuses to kneel even in death. Defiant till the end, living his own way, his own life. He's really all about the mentality of accepting himself fully by rejecting the idea of everything else, while Gojo in his reawakening is all about the acceptance of himself through the acceptance of the idea of everything else. Cool parallels, cool metaphysical sensibilities. The show has a lot to say, but people generally just see "oh, cool fighting punchy punchy pewpew"

would like to preface that as we’ve seen so far hidden inventory is showing gojo’s rise and geto’s fall as well as the growing rift between them even before this episode. gojo’s a very “show” not “tell” kinda guy so his persona/words often contradict his actions. he’s honestly the most selfless person in the show just gotta give him a chance :) he was only 16 here when he practically died, resurrected himself, and faced off against his killer alone all in one day 😭💔

Im not 100% on that cuz I haven't really looked much into Buddhism but I'm pretty sure that Gojo quoted the Buddha there "in heaven and earth I alone am the honored one", Gojo was literally as close to death as you can get so the high he must've felt was the best high anyone ever had, and in that place of near death he realized what cursed energy really is and grasped at it's core or in other words he had an enlightenment, therefore "in heaven and earth I alone am the honored one"... Ngl I did not remember this was all in episodes 3&4 lol I was sure it was like at least episode 6. And now we decend into the dark...

this is not a spoiler of anything but after geto turned evil in the light novel it states that nanami couldnt even bring himself to blame geto for snapping, and its interesting how yall could call that out, because yes every single jujutsu sorcered not only has the physical ability to just snap and overpower "regular" humans but also they are all constantly losing and going thru awful things that are all literally part of their job so mentally they are also always kind of a step away from just "it" (the job, the lifes they live because of it) being too much. Also since you guys comented on that, in the jjk0 movie, when yaga is telling everyone geto's plan and how they need to stop him for good you can actually see everyones reaction being more conflicted than ready to fight, they were stressed out they even had to kill geto because despite their morals, they all just truly cared for geto and shoko nanami and gojo especially loved him

Unironically cuz I always had bad grades and didn’t sleep much in middle school cuz I played games all day I actually fell asleep standing up multiple times 😭 still remember how flabbergasted my teacher was.. and plus I heard some animals like tigers can die standing up cuz how strong their legs are.
