According to one of the myths about the Lunar New Year, there was almost a Year of the Cat. All of the animals were invited to a banquet with the Jade Emperor, but the Rat tricked the Cat into missing the banquet, so it became the Year of the Boar instead. I’ve also heard a variation where the animals are running a race for the honor, but the Rat still tricks the Cat into losing.

The Year of the Horse has clear wings and horn because it's not really a horse unless it has no horn and wings. I didn't realize the significance until someone pointed out it was a clever design.

Either the goat or the dog. My grandfather is a year of the dragon. There is a legend about why there’s no year of the cat, you should look it up.

The year of the dog is a Shiba Inu. They look a little like a fox. And the cherry blossom is probably on the figure because the Shiba is a Japanese breed.

My favorite hat is the year of the mouse and favorite figure is year of the rooster. My lunar animal is year of the monkey 🐒but if I had to pick one for my lunar year it would be the rooster! Beautiful and love the tail! 🐓

Mine is year of the monkey and monkey's are one of my favorite animals so that one is my favorite. The dragon one is really pretty though and the pig is adorable.

On the Rabbit they're probably plum blossoms. Cherries have little notches at the tip of each petal.
