For my 8th day in Japan, I traveled to Kawagoe, a historical city with incredible traditional buildings. The journey from the Tokyo area is far, but worth it for a day trip!
Feeling transported back in time, I got to imagine what some of the sights and smells would have been like back during the Edo Period. The snacks and sweets were exceptional as well!
For lunch I had the best unagi (eel) I've had in my life, and if you'd like to check it out too, just look for the big chameleon in front of the restaurant. Just get here early since there's typically a long line out the door!
I even got to try my hand at making my own senbei, which was so fun! The instructor was enthusiastic and made the lessons enjoyable, and the senbei we made in the workshop tasted great!
On the way back, we stopped by Ikebukuro* Station (not Ueno!) to go to Sunshine City, where they had the Mega Pokemon Center. All of the Pokemon merchandise were so cute, and we got some tropical drinks at the Pikachu Sweets Cafe!
I hope you enjoyed our Kawagoe and Pokemon adventures, and I'll see you in the next Japan vlog where I'll be braving the crowd at Asakusa after a quick work meeting at Murasaki Sports, then enjoying the grand view from the top of Tokyo Skytree.
