[Tokyo Imperial Palace] The castle used to be called Edo Castle

The Imperial Palace is located on the site of Edo Castle, which was the residence of the Tokugawa shoguns until the end of the Edo period. The inner wall of Edo Castle (located inside the inner moat) included the Honmaru, Ninomaru, Sanomaru, and Nishinomaru, as well as a garden called "Fukiage" in the western part of the castle. "Fukiage" used to be a residential area, but after the great fire of Meireki (1657), no structures were allowed to be built there as a fire protection area.

Is there so little to see on the palace grounds that we have to watch you walking around Tokyo? Can't you edit that crap out? We've seen streets before.

To be honest, there really isn’t that much to see in the public area of the palace grounds. It’s kind of disappointing but you can’t go to Tokyo without seeing it.

This palace did not used to be Edo Castle, it's not even in the same place as Edo Castle, same grounds but Edo Castle was in a different location within the grounds.

@@villepaananen6934 LOL That wasn't rude. I just said the fast forward thing is annoying. Did you like it? Gees, it made me dizzy. I can be very rude. When someone makes a terrible video do you really think it's rude to tell them it's terrible? I suppose you clap when there's a really bad karaoke singer? Bad move, it only encourages them to sing again.
