I used to go to Atom (also Harlem), Camelot, and Ageha all the time in the early 2010s. It's unfortunate that Ageha is closed down, but glad that new clubs are opening up. I live in Tokyo. I’ve been to Ce La Vie, Atom, and Zero. Ce La Vie has a great rooftop view but it’s a bit pricey and they usually only have 1-2 bartenders. I was pickpocketed at Atom. Zero is beautiful and has amazing sound and lights but the night I went it was so packed. The main floor in the basement had way too many people, and when I wanted to leave I could barely push my way out. Some man I didn’t know had to help me get out. People were packed into the room and completely covering the staircases as well so there was no exit. It was terrifying that they let that many people in. It was incredibly dangerous.

This is for those who are living in Japan Right now or have lived there if you want to live in Japan for at least 6 months or even much longer. Which city would be really pleasant to live in, because I just don't know where I want to go? I don't know whether I'd rather live in the city, like in Tokyo for example, or if I'd rather live in the countryside. Could someone give me some advice please?
@brvhtxxbxk
@brvhtxxbxk 13 күн бұрын
I heard from many people who live there,that, ofcourse in the city itll be pricey,but youre close to many things. Also depending on where you work. Many choose to live in a more quite area that is 20-30min train ride from the big city as it is more cheap and also a bit of a hideout from the busy city if u need it. I wouldnt worry too much about it, i stayed for 2 months in Bunkyo City,near Komagome station and i loved every moment of it. 15min train ride from the big cities,super calm and very pretty aswell.

one the most important things in nightlife is the density of clubs and bars and other entertainment venues...and most importantly the people and late closing hours. so called "nightlife" in southeast asia is nothing close to nightlife. first its a red light district and its mainly tourists and old people and have early closing hours. imagine going to a football game only to see old people playing. wrong people wrong crowd. the closest nightlife usa has is bourbon st french quarter and 6th st in austin. austin has the younger crowd but shuts down at 2am. similar to how thailand had to shut down at 2am until few months ago allowing 4am closing time. Thailand is basically old people ladibois and farmers playing make belief. very embarrassing place. tokyo closes little bit later but still closes early for such a big city and lacks the people and density of veneues. loners walking around wearing backpacks do not qualify and belong anywhere near clubs and bars.

I guess with the closures of Maniac Love, Space-Lab Yellow, Air, Warehouse, Unit, Module, Amate-Raxi(Simoon), Colors Studio, Sound Museum Vision, Trump Room, Arc, Contact, Ageha, (and despite some failed re-openings of some of these venues under new names) the only serious dance music venue left is Womb. Times have changed. (Not for the better). Tokyo once a hub of astute music, great parties and top tier international artists has now also succumb to the table booking / bottle buying commercial tackiness that dominates the US, Asia and the Middle East with its notable absence of taste and quality substituted with fake bling, ostentation, pretension and bad hiphop.
@JENNYLEEWORLD
@JENNYLEEWORLD 3 күн бұрын
all those places closed for a reason. most Japanese are loners and have no friends and zero social lives. you can only cater to delusional expats and tourists for so long. just remember the Tokyo area is home to almost 40 million people.

I’ve been in warp it is infested with foreign people looking for girls and filling dance floor just standing there or sitting in places for taking a rest just because they are bored. That killed my vibe a lot.

Loved going to Camelot back in the day. I still remember the American bouncer never letting me in without id even though he'd see me every week. Good times. Highly recommended

Random thought: but what if Takashii did tour groups (like trovatrip or something) that would be so awesome! and then have interviews with his guests at the end?!? My deposit would be dropped so quick!! lol loved this interview btw.. I’ll be looking for Vivid on my trip

Tokyo doesn't have nightlife. it has nightclubs. and the nightclubs are sparse and spread out and close early very similar to clubs in USA and europe. the few clubs it has are very spread apart from each other and the outside of the street is usually empty without much people or vibe. usually very quiet almost pure silence. also the clubbing vibes inside tokyo clubs is usually very strict and lacks any natural vibes. the clubbers also forcefully try to prove a point unnaturally. again just to prove a point. lacks any type of natural vibes.

Tokyo doesn't have a nightlife?? What city has the best nightlife in your opinion?
@JENNYLEEWORLD
@JENNYLEEWORLD 10 күн бұрын
@@VIVIDvlogthere's a huge difference between nightlife and nightclubs.also huge difference between red light districts and nightlife. southeast Asia mainly has red light districts. most cities in the world have night clubs but nothing close to real night life. Tokyo for a city of almost 40 million people the night club scene is worse than Los Angeles and NYC. and nothing close to real night life. only few cities in the world have true vibrant nightlife. but it's not about having the best nightlife. it's not a competition. the only scene Tokyo excels in is the host hostess bars and clubs in Shinjuku. that's about it and even so it's quite tamed.

It had a great night life from the 90's till about 6-7 years ago. Sadly the best venues with real solid music have all closed. Maniac Love, Space-Lab Yellow, Air, Warehouse, Module, Amate-Raxi, Colors Studio, Unit, Sound Museum Vision, Trump Room, Arc, Contact, Ageha. There's only Womb left and it is a shadow of it's former self. Unfortunately times have changed and apparently the market prefers dance music lite' aka EDM, while paying through the nose for some lousy VIP area or bottle service with sparkles so you can impress ladies. End of an era.
