In this trope, I believe it's better that he was secretly a girl, I don't normally like it when people change the gender of characters but Rachel is the exception.

The only thing that you got wrong in the video saying it’s an illusion. It wasn’t an illusion and it got confirmed by the creator and you could see the cop outside of the house when she jumps out the window. It was confirmed that there were two endings one ending was, she got saved by Zack and they live happily ever after and the other one is where she got saved by Zack and then he killed her so the illusion is false
