Shahid Sb, really appreciate the way you have explained everything. I must say that indeed we are in your debt as a Nation, for those extra calls you used to make to the aircraft as a precaution. Likely - that practice has saved many lives and many families! May Allah Always Bless you for that, Further - I want to say that I have absolutely zero experience compared to you, I am just a frequent flyer since 20 years at an average of 100 flights a year... I really wonder if the pilots sitting in the cockpit of the A350, during the final stages with the aircraft in descent profile and flare before landing at that speed - could they have really seen a very small aircraft sitting somewhere in the middle of the runway? We do not know whether all the lights on the DASH-8 were illuminated as well ??? Anyhow - very sad - May Allah Rest Their Souls in Peace. I really look forward to your further analysis and opinion on this accident as the investigation further unfolds. I think Shahid Sb - with your experience, knowledge and analytical skills/passion for Aviation - you would make an Excellent Accident Investigation Expert! Lastly - I really really really enjoyed the way you explained that Airbus A300 Goli ki Tarah Guzar Gaya - I watched that part 3 times and I could almost see in my eyes the white and green PIA A300 thundering down the dark of the night at almost 250Km/h and the other aircraft just slowly rolling off on the taxiway not even realizing how close a call they had and how merciful was Allah to everyone that night! Sorry for the very long comment! With Best Wishes KK

OA, thank you so much for your amazing comment! I'm really glad you found my explanations helpful. I'll definitely keep sharing my analysis and opinions on this accident as more information becomes available. About those extra calls, the most critical moment for me to use these calls was when we have two aircraft on a reciprocal track to cross each other and one is climbing and the other one is descending. As we have to maintain vertical separation, we restrict one at the lower level and the other at the higher level till the time they cross each other. These levels are calculated in a way not to delay climb and descend for the aircrafts. So most of the time we have them in climbing or descending phase. I used the reminder call concept here always well before they reach the assigned levels because if anything goes wrong at the last moments, there will not be time for corrective action. It was very helpful. I have done aircraft accident investigation course from UK AAIB as well. And don't worry about the long comment, I appreciate your support and enthusiasm! Keep watching and stay tuned for more exciting content! Regards

Nice analysis and explanation. Also reiterates the importance of visual cues in navigation. It might be very hard for the A350-900 pilot to spot the Dehavilland Dash-8 on runway at night time as these CAT-III landing runways have touchdown zone lights inside the runway as well, so very difficult to spot the lights of the small turbo prop from back side. I wonder what the Dash-8 pilot was thinking after sitting in the centre of runway for full 40 seconds, not realizing that this is a busy airport with a plane touching down every 45 seconds and even as you said, turning his head to right side while entering the runway from holding point charlie 5, he would have seen the bright landing gear lights of the massive incoming jet. Another possibility is that since Captain sits on the left side seat and was possibly controlling the aircraft tiller while the first officer was dealing with radios, the captain misinterpreted the tower instruction as clearance for take off but lets say even if he thought he was cleared to take off, what was he doing for 40 seconds on the runway and even if he had entered he should have applied full thrust and taken off. At certain airports like Chicago Midway city airport, a southwest airlines hub, southwest pilots usually get clearance for take off before the holding points so as they enter the runway, they come in high speed taxi and apply full thrust as they enter the runway cutting down on time intervals between takeoffs and landings
@YourFlightRadar
@YourFlightRadar 6 ай бұрын
Absolutely correct. D-8 time on the runway and the time of impact indicate 2 possibilities. 1. He entered the runway before A350 flare out. So there might have been time for the Airbus pilot to see the blinking light of D8 lined up beyond the touch down zone as impact was after the touchdown. 2. We have to wait for the investigation outcome to know if someone cleared him to line up and wait. Normally if there is a delay in departure on the runway, pilot has to get the clearance before entering the runway. Rolling take off is often used by the ATC when there is a tight position for the departure and when pilot is willing to do it. Thanks for your great analysis and comment. Regards

The great thing about the Japanese people is that they abide by the rules and commands issued to them. I wish our people were like this as well. Whenever I travel to or from Pakistan, the Pakistani passengers are always impatient and sometimes rude to the staff. As soon as the plane lands, they ignore the guidelines given by the pilot and rush towards the exit when it has not even opened

All of your videos are interesting, informative and excellent. There is something new to learn in each of your upcoming videos. The editing and graphics of your videos are always matched with your commentary. Videos related to air traffic control is an international subject so you should add sub titles in English and other languages with your videos. Videos in Urdu language can be understood only by people of India/ Pakistan while with sub titles in different languages, will be liked and understood all over the world. Nowadays, you can also hire a professional to add subtitles to your videos, who can add subtitles to your videos in all the popular and common languages of the world with the help of Google translate for a small charge. In this way the viewership of your videos will increase and will be seen and liked all over the world.
