It was great seeing Prof put some real effort into shaking it open. UG has been my no.1 box option since they came on the scene. The Katana sleeves could be improved though... too slippery and their thickness is inconsistent.

Prof has the reputation of being a decent human being and honest in what he does. qualities that tend to get rarer the older you get. it's refreshing to interact, even indirectly, with somebody you feel comfortable putting trust into. for some people more than others of course. for example, I haven't spent money on a magic product in close to four years, yet here i am watching this video. he's a good guy

Thank you Prof and keep up the great and honest work.

definitely. i also appreciate in the case of something like the archive he recognizes the difference between storage and travel when giving his grades. If he treated the 800+ archive like he was taking in and out of the house, bringing it to an LGS or a friends house, I imagine it would receive a far worse grade, but it's not intended for that purpose.

I own a Toyger so I feel I've gotta give my two cents on it. I use it regularly to transport a single EDH deck (double sleeved) It's the only deckbox I have that is slim enough to fit into my laptop bag without bulging out and creating a risky point that could be hit in transit and damage my laptop (which is what I would fear putting my standard deckbox of choice, the Boulder). In the video, the professor regularly pushes the Toyger open and closed using only the box to force the cards to slim down over and over and it looks really risky and I totally understand where people are coming from feeling super anxious. I always use my fingers to help guide the cards into the slim position. There is a 0% chance that any of the cards would ever take damage when folding them down that way. It's been a really great deckbox for specifically needing to fit a single EDH deck in my laptop bag. Is it the best deckbox I've ever owned? No, but does it offer a slim profile that is not available in any other deckbox on the market? Yes, it absolutely does.
@TimStamper89
@TimStamper89 2 жыл бұрын
I had a similar issue for taking a deck or two to work if I was going straight to the lgs from the office. In the end I just went with a new bag instead as something like this gave me the absolute fear Ended up with a great deadpool bag, ok I get odd looks as everyone else has the issue or similar laptop bags etc but I felt a better bag was a better compromise for me personally

I won one of the Toyger deck slimmers for free from a competition, and I use it to keep my planechase cards in, as it's a good size for it and by taking out the cardboard dice holder, the space it big enough to fit the Planeswalk/Chaos D6 dice, meaning you can transport it all together. Works pretty well for that

I'd love to see some reviews mention or even focus on the sheer impossible GIRTH that is a 100 card deck, double sleeved with Dragonshield sealables. I have mine in eclipse outer sleeves, as they are thin enough to just BARELY fit in those 120 count boxes, but it would be nice to have the option of dragonshield outer sleeves... If only I had boxes that could fit them...

I have the UG Arkhive 800+ for my Innistrad cube and I love it. I run 4 C, 3 U, 1 R+M. There is enough room from set tokens before being fully full. My cards are double sleeved with KMC perfect hards and Dragon Sleeve outters. 1 row holds W, U, B, and 4 ashmound hounds snuggly!

Great information! I'm still enjoying my Stanley Tool Organizer, but these do seem super plush. ;)

I will say I'm glad I finally got to see a review on the Toyger. While its use is REALLY narrow, I do think it does one thing that fits my needs: hold a Dragon Shield sealable double sleeved commander deck with tokens. Right now I don't know of any deck box on the market that can do that outside of the recently released Dragon Shield deck double shell, which looks to be made of the same flimsy hard plastic that the cheap boxes are all made of, and doesn't have room for dice.

I've been using the "Card Bearer Tactician" for the past two years. It's expensive but besides the cost, it is an amazing product. It has a handle, a strong strap to carry on the shoulder, a quiver like case to carry a playmat. It's modular with the top (nexus) being water resistant and the bottom (library) has a water tight seal. At the moment, my "library box" holds nine single sleeved commander decks and tokens while the "Nexus box" holds two ultimate guard boulders, my modem deck including sideboard and my dice.

The lack of response from the prof as the box opens and his cards fly everywhere is priceless

I just bought a Superhive not long ago and I absolutely love it! big enough to put my 4 favourite decks in as well as dice and my mat. great for taking with me or for looking pretty on the shelf. You really can't beat ultimate guard boxes. The gamegenic ones seem appealing too though.

Gem Accessories deck boxes can hold DS Sealables double sleeved cards, which is a big win for me on top of the design
