It's actually kind of interesting - Jim's Deck is running Chrome Mox, which is just not an OK Magic Card, but everything else is pretty bad by modern standards. Every card Bloody was running has an encyclopedia of text on it, but they're all fairly unidimentional value engines. Prof's deck was the one with the best of both worlds - some spells over the line for today's standards (some of them WAY over the line), and creatures that don't suck.

While tapping your cards only 45 degrees may seem like a newer phenomenon thanks to people coming up on Arena, it was also fairly prevalent in the days around Revised edition because the tap symbol they employed for that set shows a T that is tilted at 45 degrees. I tapped my cards like that for a while back then until I realized how difficult it was to tell what the game state was and surrendered to the 90 degree tap, never to look back. Everything old is new again!

First of all, thanks for the upload. I would never miss an episode. I have a request: when you link a decklist, make sure that it actually contains the cards you've played with. I first noticed this issue with the mono-black pauper decklist which did not contain Distress and now I notice that Bloody's decklist does not contain Quasiduplicate or Shifting Ceratops. One aspect of this series that I think is key is that viewers, like myself, enjoy seeing how the decks work not to mention possibly trying to put decks together ourselves. I now have the mono-black pauper deck on my shelf and although it wasn't rocket science to guess which cards Distress was replacing, it's not as obvious in the case of this Eldraine deck. Does Quasiduplicare replace Entrancing Melody? Mass Manipulation? It would be a shame not to streamline all aspects of such an enjoyable series.

@@LtSMASH324 okay, but that's pretty disingenuous. If youre comparing creatures from five years ago, it was during a *deliberate* power down from BFZ to Ixalan. Creatures in 2011-2016 were pretty comparable, standard-wise, to creatures today. Even eldraine isn't too far away from that powerlevel. Like, we're talking about an era with Snapcaster, Geist of saint traft, delver of secrets, the praetors, and not even discussing the non-creatures. Power goes up in some places and down in others, and we only remember the peaks of those swings.

I love these episodes very much found them on tiktok and have finished binging them, can't wait for more. I do wanna say at 1:05:37 why would infest not have whiped the board because the original copy of lord of the unreal was a 2/2 and not an illusion, did i miss something?
@eliakimrodrigues
@eliakimrodrigues Жыл бұрын
Prof explained in another comment that the copy Lord of the Unreal gives itself +1/+1 as it is an Illusion (via its own effect), so it wouldn't die (and it would keep the Illusion Bears alive aswell).

You see Bloody is lost without a computer because she missed a trigger at 20:00 and old magic players never missed triggers back in the old days, never ever missed one, no sir.🧙‍♂

Am I missing something or would the infest indeed have cleared the board? All creatures get -2/-2 until end of turn, the OG Lord dies putting the phantasmal image Lord to 0/0, thus killing it, and then killing the bears also. I would've loved to see that chain reaction.
@MrKillerofthings
@MrKillerofthings Жыл бұрын
The phantasmal image lord would have been a 4/4 since the card doesn't read "give OTHER illusions +1 +1" So i think the only way Jim gets out is by attacking with his 2/2's and having prof block one. Then infest would have been able to clear the board by killing both Lords and then the bears. But I doubt Prof would fall for the attack bait.

@@MrKillerofthings you are wrong since the original lord doesn't get +1/+1 from phanasmal image and image only gets +1/+1 which he would lose since the lord would die I'm pretty sure Davis knew but threw it
