This video is about the good in Magic The Gathering this year. Yes, there were many great things to happen in the game in a year that was so often filled with dread, misery and fear. Don’t worry, I’ll get to those aspects tomorrow in my 'Worst Of' video.

Because of your video, Ill be making this deck. I have a lot of cards already that could be needed. I was looking through my cards and saw that I had an "Inspiring Statuary". With infinite rocks, could i use them to pay a X mana burn spell to kill my opponents? All X mana burn spells escape my mind at the moment.

Sometimes the algorithm tries to find a part of the video that seems like a dull/static moment or a transition between segments and put the ad there to make it less intrusive. Sometimes it doesn't work, but sometimes there's a nice clean spot like that for it.

That really was the best thing to take away from this channel this year. Its nice to see new people that love the game like I do. I was especially pleased to see the diversity of content creators. I am a female of mixed ethnicity and there's not much diversity here in the MTG community where I live. I have had to accept that to play the game I love. Still, it's nice to know that I'm not alone.

The idea of working with four different authors for Zendikar was interesting, and some of the stories were good. Not all of them were epic tales, but give you an idea of the life of common people on the plane, not only the deeds and misdeeds of the planeswalkers
@sunstrid3r44
@sunstrid3r44 3 жыл бұрын
My favorite pieces of lore usually are stories about characters from a plane doing things of the plane (og ravnica novel, tarkir, m19, the gathering storm, kamigawa, some shorts of characters like kaalia, thraximundar etc) with minimum planeswalker influence, with planeswalkers native to the plane and/or that are well familiar with the plane. I think this is the best way to show and represent a plane and that is why i really dont like kaladesh and amonkhet, planes that felt rushed and empty, their only purpose was to serve as background for the gatewatch lore Of course i love lore with some walkers too (for example ixalan was great, i enjoyed bfz too, zendikar rising wasnt a blast, but was fun, alara was nice, not to mention the comics of alara, zendikar and new phyrexia) and the return to zendikar, innistrad and ravnica didnt felt the same as kaladesh and amonketh because those were well known and explored planes already

Having emotionally devolved this year to the feeling like I had all but lost my creativity, I was glad to see with all this that you were still able to churn out videos. I’m not saying that it is just so easy for you, because I know you have produced some amazingly high grade videos this year and I understand enough that I know that each of those subtle differences can take hours and that is AFTER coming up with an idea for a video and balancing that out with having to respond to the plethora of things Wizards was doing this year before something else came up. I’m exhausted just talking about what you had to do. So with the world turning upside down, it was nice to have a familiar face being passionate about a game I joined in fourth edition, left during Ravnica and returned at the start of Innistrad and never wanted to leave, because I knew if I could just get through this year, I could find joy in these things again. So thank you for your hard work and for the hope of “The Gathering” to someday, hopefully soon, resume.

Another great vid prof. Always found your videos honest and insightful. Even if we don't always agree (which isn't even the point) I feel content creators like you have really kept the game alive for some of us this year. Keep on trucking.

I have to give my number 1 this year to Mystery Booster. That set alone helped me get into commander this year with my brother and a few close friends, and that's led to many fun nights of commander this year.

I've played MTG on and off for almost twenty years now, watched this channel for about ten. The Mystery Booser box was the first booster box I've bought in my entire life... an excellent product. I hope they make a sequel with more reprints, I'm so sick of EVERYTHING being financialized and just want to enjoy the game without spending thousands on cards that people hoard and don't even play with them.

I LOVE Jumpstart! In fact - I found cubamajigs through your channel, and have my jumpstart packs all sleeved and ready to play at a moments notice. For whatever reason, it's even more fun than drafting when only my boyfriend and I play. We're both way too competitive, and Jumpstart takes away the big brain stunts, selfish picks etc... Can't wait to introduce more people to magic this way. Oddly enough - Mystery boosters was my first box, and Jumpstart was my most recent. 2020 introduced me to MTG and for that, I'm thankful - while we all had a trying, scary and for too many - a devastating year.

Hey Professor, thanks for talking about the contribution of each individual with acts of love. It’s been important for me this year for me to remember that despite global problems my own needs are valid as are the needs of other individuals.
