Very nice collection 🗡⚔ I am now starting my own. Just ordered the Children of hurin and the tales from the perilous realm (both hardcover) and I have my eye on the omnibus book with gandalf same as you have and I will probably get one of the newer ones from amazon, and I am getting the cheap box set from amazon same as you have. its only $19 I think. Defiantly have to get a version of the simarllion . ( I have my eye on the 2002 second edition print because it looks just amazing. I also want to get beren and luthien and the fall of gondolin. Tolkeins work is just amazing!! I am excited for the new rings of power show just to see how its different from the books.

Amazing collection. Those Nerdy Ink covers would be great for giving the books to younger kids who might prefer a modern picture-cover to something that looks "old". In fact, I was actually looking at buying the Clarion softcover box set just for my nephews and nieces because of the art style... although this is a tempting alternative, I think it would be more expensive. I love that Alan Lee set though... I just bought them as my first set (someday my wallet will recover and I shall buy more, perhaps). I also bought the Ted Nasmath-illustrated Silmarillion. :) Just an idea... I think it'd be really cute if you propped up that Door Of Durin box behind Legolas and Gimli and Gandalf, and put Frodo and Sam in front of the map. IDK how you'd make space for it exactly...

@@goticrose The Hobbit! It makes it easier to get yourself into the world and it also helps familiarise you with important characters😄

The blue edition of The Hobbit in the top left is the edition I have, I got it as a present when I was in primary school and I never got around to reading it (well that's half true, I did start it at one point but I DNFd it cause I wasn't in the mood at the time) I nearly unhauled it several times but something kept telling me to hang onto it. I only just saw the LOTR films for the first time in the last couple of years (plus you always talking about it has helped entice me) so now I've got a goal at the back of my mind to get to it this year 😊⚔️

Just got the whole new 11 book set of Harper Collins illustrated editions. The dust jackets are amazing as are the quality of the books.

I’m new too reading but I do want too pick up the illustrated Tolkien books at 7:43 those seem the best option for me too start with the bigger editions just seem too much for a beginner.

Hi! I don’t know if you’ll see this but it will be my first time reading Tolkien and I’m curious because I bought from another country (and hasn’t received it yet) that 7 volumes version of LOTR like yours, but if I’m correct, I only know there’s 3 books in LOTR. I can’t seem to find the answer everywhere, so I’m hoping that maybe I could ask you since you’re the only person I saw who has that version. Great collection btw!

To be honest I think they’ve just split them up further! You should be fine to read them as they are but I’ve never done that so I’m not 100%😅

Great collection! I'm still waiting for my copy of the new special edition book. I'm in Australia so it looks like i wont get it until February. Did you have any trouble with the quality of your copy? I hear lots of people did.

Have you read the Silmarillion? If so, how is it going in, I've heard it's extremely difficult so it's super daunting. Nice collection btw, I have the same paperback Hobbit / Lord of The Rings set. Hoping to collect the other paperbacks as well, the colours on the spine seem beautiful for the other companion books and seem to match well with the others.

Legit question: I'm trying to find a hardcover copy of the silmarillion that's the same height as the book set you unboxed in this vid. Do you have a recommendation? Cuz there doesn't seem to be a LOTR book set that has the trilogy, the hobbit AND the silmarillion so I'm a bit stuck

I got them as part of a collector’s edition on eBay. They came in a box with the extended edition of the fellowship of the ring!

They’re from a collectors edition box where you get the extended edition of The Fellowship of the Ring and the two book ends! I found mine on ebay😄

8:18 careful putting books on larger books like this, I've done this and forgotten and moved my books ot a new bookcase and my large book that was resting below some relativity lightweight books left some imprints on th ebook that cannot be fixed :(
