luckily it WAS the red one, there would be rioting if they tore up THE scarf!! That is the most iconic piece of neck wear in tv history!!!

it seemed like a clear way to differentiate his regeneration. this old thing which was once a huge part of his identity has become some piece of fabric to idly tear apart. as if he’s coping. i always thought it was kind of deep.

He didn't "tear it up" though, they're making out it was shredded in a fit of rage, some fans they are, anyone taking notice would've realised he undid the thread to lay a trail through the corridors cos he was confused in his post regen state so didn't want to get lost.

If I had been electrocuted, fallen from the Pharos Project, got a new body, and then had to fumble around the Tardis in post-regeneration shock, I'd be unraveling stuff too 😂. As a child, I hated seeing Tom leave, but what Peter's character did was totally spot on. 💝

I have never before this video heard Tom Baker, mention Peter Davison by name he refused to name him as his successor on the VHS release the Tom Baker years still I do not know how Tom Baker gets along with the other Doctors who followed him.

Well he didnt tear it up he undid the threads while in post regen confusion so he could lay a trail through the TARDIS corridors so he wouldnt get lost and secondly it wasnt the iconic scarf anyway it was the second one nobody gave a shit about.

It wasn't the proper scarf that everybody loves. It was the crap scarf that John Nathan-Turner made him wear. If I had seen it, I would have torn it up too.

That scarf was not crap! Tom credits it and the coat that went with it to June Hudson in _Doctor Who: The Tom Baker Years..._ (2 VHS Set 1992©2h 50m) TOM BAKER: (After watching the scene where The Doctor emerges from the Tachyon Recreation Generator aged 1500) _"And, of course, guess who did the costumes? Why is everyone in the comments saying they don’t like the scarf? Sure the red and purple one is less iconic but I think the red looked so much cooler 😂
