I like that they have a design for airport travelers but yet EDC. But I also like the synapse proper for customers who may not want that. For me since I fly a lot and use rolling carry-on luggage this is so perfect! Put this with my Eagle creek expanse international carry-on and you have a combo that is perfect. I wish Tom bihn made international rolling carry-on’s as well.

Just ordered my Synik 30 today! Can’t wait to get it.

I know it’s an old comment but how did you like the Synik30?
@wk86789 ай бұрын
@@richardlucascronley5128 I do like it. It holds a lot which can be heavy. I used it for a 7 day trip to the UK this past summer and I bought another bag (Longchamp bag) to help with the weight. Other than that it is a great bag!

Good stuff. Do you know where I can find the black Synik 30 Guides edition or know anyone looking to offload? Thanks

Do you think a laptop with thin sleeve like “comfyable” will fit that laptop compartment or is it snug for just the 15inch mbp?
@MyTomBihnReviews5 жыл бұрын
Dixit Patel I think a thin sleeve could comfortably fit, but I’m not so sure about the Cache (I’ll try it tomorrow when I get home). This also depends on what pocket you use. I can’t pull my 15” MBP out of the side pocket of the backpack without first tilting it - it takes a little effort to get it out.
@dixitk135 жыл бұрын
To me this bag is the perfection of everything, design organisation look everything. Just wanted to see if my existing things will fit in If you could try a nalgene bottle in the bottle compartment And mbp + thin sleeve to be removed from the side zipper? Also how padded is the laptop compartment for inter country travel for laptop just thrown in?
@AnthonyMartinezAPM4 жыл бұрын
Is the 30 too big for everyday carry? Especially if main compartment is empty except 15” laptop.

Great review, do you have any other non Tom Bihn bags to compare it against?

Does the Tom Bihn first aid pouch fit in the side pockets of the Synik 30?
@MyTomBihnReviews10 ай бұрын
Yes, but it'll be a tight fit if you have the First Aid Pouch full!

Thank you for this great initial review! How would you describe the ballistic compared to the parapack? Im trying to decide based on appearance, as one seems to have more of a sheen then the other. I imagine both would hold up to quite a bit of wear and tear.
@MyTomBihnReviews5 жыл бұрын
@@nickpeterson9896 I don't have the parapack Synik 30, but I do have the Guide's Pack (which IS made in parapack) and I really like it. The weave is a lot tighter and because of that it has a smoother texture. It's also a very durable fabric and I would expect it to last about as long as ballistic under normal use.

Too pricey though. I’m glad I already have a synapse 25.
@SaddleSC5 жыл бұрын
R Ww Agreed...I am surprised that the price is nearly 50% more for what seems to be incremental improvements.
@catlike15 жыл бұрын
SaddleSC I think in part it’s because they include the internal frame, which adds $30. The bag is 20 percent bigger, too. It’s still a $60 premium on the Synapse.
@777arc25 жыл бұрын
@@catlike1 Yeah and it's not just a piece of plastic, it has a aluminum stay stitched into it.
@david782125 жыл бұрын
Some of the changes are just "OK", but I really don't want an EDC bag that clamshells.... Too much of an issue if you're just "slinging" it and all the stuff inside just falls out. The "bucket" works a lot better when you need something and don't have a lot of space to work with. I can see people loving it for 1-bag travel, but not EDC.
@taylorclay21225 жыл бұрын
David Cote I agree! I’m a student, married and always on the go. I like the fact that I know where things are but they don’t fall out!
@jrrichards93924 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing. I had a clamshell bag once and didn’t like it. But, with the YKK #10 zippers may be stiff enough that is can still act as both sine the are very rigid.
@jfm562 Жыл бұрын
It’s not an issue unless you open the bag up completely. I only do that when packing clothes.

4 reviewers have called it magic. Sounds like reviews are a little too close to the marketing department.
