First off, he played in an era where defensive linemen couldn't breathe on him, or the yellow handkerchief would come flying out. Especially where the Golden Boy was concerned. Like the technology of fitness equipment and workout routines getting better as time goes by. How athletes today are bigger, faster, and larger than previous athletes because of certain environmental factors plus the aforementioned workout techniques and technology. So it's not really fair to compare an athlete of today with one from the 1960s or before that time. I'd go era with basketball as: 1960s: Tie: Russell/Wilt. 1970s: Tie: Kareem/Wilt. 1980s: Tie: Magic/Bird/Dominique. 1990s: Jordan. With honorable mention: Hakeem Olajuwan. 2000s: 3-way Tie: Kobe/Shaq/Tim Duncan. 2010s: Lebron. 2020s to present: ???
