With Brady, a team has a shot at winning. Ten Super Bowl appearances and winning seven of them is amazing. Barkely’s comments summed up how playoffs and Super Bowls are so tough to win to begin with and to consistently win speaks to Tom’s greatness.

There was a ESPN stat when I was about 19 maybe 20 Brady had 5 rings I believe. Tom Brady gives any team in the National Football League an average boost of over 50% odds to make the playoffs, a 35% boost to go to the Super Bowl and over 25% chance to win the SuperBowl. Now I love Peyton, rodgers, Montana and mahomes but nobody, ABSOLUTELY NOBODY, gives a single team that much of a chance to take them all the way. Simply put. Tom Brady is the NFL’s first master of sport.

I never understood Brady's competitiveness until his interview with Patrick Bet David. He asked Brady about holding grudges and Brady talked about how he uses anger to spike his focus. They both emphasize how his humility overwhelmingly (and uncharacteristically) compliments his unmatched success (in less than 10 mins. of dialogue)! Charles is BANG on with his comment about the Super Bowl. Every Super Bowl is a Game 7 of any other sport. You can drop a Game 1 or even a Game 2 of most other Pro Sports "Best of Seven" series. But the NFL only has ONE GAME, winner takes all. Then, to get to the Super Bowl. One game, winner takes all. It's mind blowing the intricacy of lead ups to get to the Super Bowl. Let alone win the one game Super Bowl. Tom Brady had a career of getting to the most Super Bowls of any Pro Football Player in any time of Football. Some mighty good QB's never got to a Super Bowl. But somehow, Tom Brady through study and hard work found a way year after year to challenge to get to a Playoff, let alone the Super Bowl. Got to remember, as good as you are in NFL Football. You don't get the Draft Picks being a Top Team. There are always 30 players taken before you get to pick your first one. Parity dominates the NFL, but somehow the Pats got the most out of their Players to get them to the playoffs and Super Bowls. It's astonishing really the success. I have to honor Tom Brady and his teammates over the years for being so consistent.

It's funny that I see no one is saying Brady is a "Systems QB" anymore since he won his last Super Bowl in Tampa Bay. They used to say he couldn't do it without Bill Belichick. It is now the other way around. Belichick was once considered a genius, but not anymore.

@Lippett He is a great football coach. He's made some strategic mistakes, though. When he benched Malcolm Butler in Super Bowl 52 vs. the Eagles was a bonehead move. Brady threw for 505 yards and 3 tds, and they still lost to Nick Foles?

Look Bills record speaks for himself...he's got 0 as a head coach with any other QB.. and its not a small sample It's 9 years worth...10 if you include 08 He has 1 playoff win I mean... you can be a great coach but still never win The reason coaches are considered great is because they have usually an all time great player

Tom Brady is indeed "second to none" He literally had 3 First Ballot HOF careers in his 23 years in the NFL. His records, his piety, his drive, his fire and competitiveness, his generosity and his longevity at the position are all second to none. He deserves to have his own floor in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He's eligible in 2028 so they have plenty of time to start construction.

I have no doubt Belichick is a great coach, not sure about his being a good GM. But having Tom was a draw for talent. And Tom could take average receivers and make them great. Like Edelman, Welker, and Dion Branch. Dion Branch was nothing when he left NE. Brady also knew how to make up for weaknesses in the running game or offensive line. He also took pay cuts, allowing Belichick to higher more players. During Brady's tenure Belichick always spent a higher proportion of the salary cap on defense then most teams. The other thing about Belichick was his first three rings were won with many players recruited by his predieceesor coaches some of the best: Bill Parcels, and Pete Carroll - that's right may young uns will not remember Pete Carroll coaching the Patriots. Also during his first three rings he had a very good GM. And let's remember after those first three rings the Patriots went ten years without winning another. It's like after so many years of Brady winning the Patriots finally made it back. It's sad to see the Patriots now - they just don't have the offensive personnel - something Belichick was never good at getting. Even defensive players were likely to stick around as long as Brady was there.

Agree that outside of R Moss, TB12 never had a burner! Yes he won with a “system” and great undersized receivers! I would include the versatile Troy Brown in this list (from my hometown Marshall U)! Troy caught the long pass that set them up for their first SB win against the Greatest Show on Turf! He was a superb Special Teams player especially on punt returns. Troy also stripped a defensive interception away from a Chargers DB (that would have been a late in game killer). In 2003 the Pats had many DB back injuries and Troy had to play both ways contributing greatly to the Pat’s 3rd Super Bowl!

In basketball it’s much less of a team sport unlike football where you need everyone to do their part on offence, defense and special teams. In basketball an individual player can have much more of an impact just bc that’s how the nature of the sport is with having less players on the court. Brady has definitely won more and there’s something to be said about his character and leadership effect on teams but I’d argue Lebron has done more as an individual for his teams and is the more naturally gifted athlete
