Tom Curren at Lowers

This video of Tom Curren at Lowers was shot a number of years ago. At the time we (Boardfolio.com) were selling quite a few of Tom's CD's and we asked if he would lend us one of his songs for the video clip. We got the "ok" and to add to our stoke, his people requested that they could run the video on Tom's site. I'm not sure if it ever happened but we were honored nonetheless. "Light Becomes a Fire" written and performed by Tom Curren, courtesy of Troubadour Entertainment. Video by Chris Grant, Boardfolio.com.

On a long pointbreak that style and flow is on a league of its own.cant find any faults on this guys surfing.absolutely amazing natural talent.

Dude NO ONE on the WCT has his style TODAY! So he can't do aerials or tail reverses but put him up to any other styled surfer including Slater and Fanning and there is NO comparison!

You got it right, bro. Tom Curren is still the best on any point break on any given day; his flow and affinity with the wave is unsurpassed. His bottom turn, carves and lines are the best of all time. Airs are cool, but style and flow is more important. Dane is the master of airs and has a great style but I don't think he compares to Tom on a long breaking wave.

@TOTVSTVVSMARIA, Curren's style was more unique, and 'better', in 1983, - that was his peak

Of course numerous guys have style as Currens. It's a basic flow carve style.

Curren was at his standout peak in 1983 - 86, that's it. Has he ever done a 360? All he's done, nearly so, is just groove styling without spins our airs, though he's sorta done those on rare occasions,...but actually maybe not a full spin that continues riding.

I would have to say the only surfer that can compare somewhat is T Knox. His flow is smooth and powerful.

board does not look too long,he rides all different types and sizes of boards ,one of the reasons he is so good. and his natural ability of course.

@@jettygirlsurfmag I'm surprised nobody commented anything on the fact that it's his own music. Whether the style of music is something you enjoy or not, I think it's pretty damn cool that you got the go from Curren himself and made a video of him with his song!

Tom surfed better at lowers in 1982, on shorter boards. This board looks too long.
