I bought Black Orchid back in 15/12/2010 on my way to the USA for the first time to start my college life.. it was a Christmas time and I bought it from the airplane. It was a blind buy because they didn’t have a tester and I wanted to buy something I link this trip to. So now this perfume will forever reminds me of Washington DC winter time and snow.. love it

You should try Nishane Amouage Initio Serge lutens All of which are more sophisticated and special. Tom Ford is the best “designer” fragrance house, it has nothing on the “Niche” brands

@@CarnalEssence A good scent is a good scent. Be it 'designer', or 'niche'. Some 'niche' smells like shit, just like some designer smells like 'shit'. Some fragrances that are considered 'niche', smell like designer and vice versa.

Amazing salesmanship. Orchids don't have a scent, red: I am wrong, orchids have scent, thx for the correction. Givaudan made a fantasy accord.The bottle has the same shape as Tom Ford For Men and Grey Vetiver. But, I love Black Orchid EDP. It's an amazing sensual dark lush scent.The black currant and chocolat are divine.

Whilst I cant say I like nor love Black Orchid, I absolutely will and have to give it the respect deserves. It smells foul on my skin and is too overpowering. I have smelled it on others and it has smelled divine, it just doesn’t work with my body chemistry. Now, the house of Tom Ford is a house I love & respect - the house that birthed one of my favourite perfumes: Vanille Fatale. Now that is a work of art. Black Orchid is much Like Thierry Mugler’s Angel - polarising. You’re going to love it or hate it with no in-between. Alas, it’s a no for me, however I appreciate the craftsmanship that’s gone into making this product.

jk tom ford perfumes are revolutionary and the link between designer perfumes and niche. And all the whales that buy the expensive fragrances help afford free samples at every perfume store. Black orchid is too sweet though

He never said there was Orchid oil in the formula. He said they used headspace technology (analysing the aromachemicals in the air around the Orchid) to reproduce the smell of the Orchid using a synthesised accord…

Like they said, it’s synthesized. Also regarding the formula, you likely saw a formula that was recreated from running the fragrance under GC to analyze the composition. This stuff is good enough, but it never really shows the original formula, particularly with complex fragrances like Black Orchid.
