It impressed me that Seth let him talk for as long as he did. A lot of times, these actors have a dozen stories to tell and they sit down, introduce themselves, and it's time for a commercial . . . or worse, time to go on to the next guest. We would never have gotten that great last story (including setup and punchline) if he'd only been given three to five minutes.

Before all the roles people recognize him for, Tom Hollander played a doomed poet in the BBC miniseries Wives and Daughters, which is one of my comfort watches. But he was such a tragic figure in that show. So when I next saw him as Mr. Collins and wanted to slap him, I knew he was an incredibly versatile performer. Exemplary, if you will.

Best kind of interview on both sides. Left wishing they had a longer conversation. Tom said “anyway” at the end right before Seth wrapped it up for commercial break and seemed to wish he could have a longer interview with Seth. Which is a sign they were both having fun and enjoying it.

So glad to see Seth Myers interviewing Tom. He has been one of my favorite actors since I saw him in Pirates and P&P. He was also amazing in Cambridge Spies, Doctor Thorne, and Ipcress Files. Everything he does, Tom just draws you in. Absolutely amazing actor!

There is an excelllent British TV series callled Rev (as in Reverend) where he appears as a well meaning but conflicted vicar, which he starred in and co-wrote. And at teh other end of the spectrum as Corky the psychopathic henchman in The Night Manager. Both really worth watching if you can find them overseas. A talented actor indeed.

The potatoes line was from Pride and Prejudice. He is astounding as Capote. Emmy time! I loved his line in Gosford Park when he's eating jam and says that "one can feel so bruised" or words to that effect. So terrifying in The Night Manager. One of my favorite actors.❤

He truly was a genius in that role as King George. It was a rather short performance and scene, but he was brilliant in it. He portrayed the sad shock and regal nature of the King, and the awkward meeting between his characters the ruler of England and John Adams of the brand-new country of the United States of America.

With the notable exception of Graham Norton, our interviewers here in the UK are bad. They interrupt the guests and ask cringy questions. I enjoy watching US talk shows, and Seth is a top host 😊

There's more than just Norton, at least there was, you just have to avoid the likes of Wossy. Rob Brydon is good but it is a small bunch. They also talk over guests and so on in the US. Fallon is horrendous for it, Corden too but he kinda straddles the line as he's British but on an American show. Meyers and Colbert are the best US chat show hosts I've seen.

I absolutely absolutely love him as an actor. Another one of those classically trained British actors who speaks so eloquently. I cannot wait to watch his new show I also just love his voice its almost ASMR oh he's so talented. I hope this means that I'll see him on more talk shows promoting this same project!

He's brilliant in Rev. His downtrodden expression is top notch! Edit : probably get grief for this but toby jones was better than philip seymour hoffman as capote.....
