Dell Matthews because whatever you need to tell him can be done in a way where there isn’t a huge spectacle in front of a national audience. You’re just embarrassing the kid and for what? He misplayed a switch? That can be addressed in a huddle, without getting red in the face and standing up, screaming, pointing at the kid. Especially in this case, just wait till the locker room to address it. He’s just like that little bagel guy that went viral. Mad at everyone for everything at all times. Not to mention the excuses come out whenever he loses. Likes to blame the players for losses. Which it might be their fault, but pretty fucking petty of him to name kids in front of the media.

Can we please stop confusing reckless out of control behavior with passion and tough love. Set a better example for your players plain and simple. The teammate hedged the screen and stayed tight when this happened Gabe’s job was to fill and cover the open man, the strong side wing defender was a pass away and did his job to help. Gabe got caught gambling on who was shootin it was his bad, the weak side wing was 2 passes away Gabe should have read that and covered the open man. First of all you saw that wrong. You don't scream at the kid and physically grab him. It was inexcusable. Nothing gives you the right to grab a player that hard and then again grab his jersey like that. He's a kid. There is correction and there is abuse. I coached Gabe in AAU. As for saying he wasn't raised right, you're a damn fool. Charles Brown was a good man and did right by Gabe in every way. He loved and took care of Gabe until the day he died. It's a term used for those who believe ANYTHING that a specialist does or says is right over someone outside of their said profession. Rather right or wrong. That's also called endoctrination. If the president, doctor, or politician said it or did it, then it's right. Smh. He was wrong. I saw Bobby Knight headbutt kids more than once. He's also thrown chairs onto the court. All on national television! He's a Hall of Famer. Did that make it right? Then why was he fired? These are children. Not men. Izzo was wrong. So you Stay in your lane. These are games being played by kids. You have lost your sense of reality. I'd never be ok with a man manhandling my kid like that on national television. That was a weak switch and he probably realized the mistake to late and still tried to make it look like he had to muscle through a screen.. Izzo has done this for years and this new “Cancel Culture” of he shouldn’t put his hands on him and embarrass him like he did but going and playing at Sparty you should know what you’re getting into and that’s Izzo freak outs and sometimes crazy coaching style! It’s like signing up for the military and at boot camp you get yelled at and saying “what’s your problem and why are you so mean to me!”
@quintonb99083 жыл бұрын
there was no switch made lmao, he was obviously confused on his defensive assignments as his teammates told him something then Izzo did, unless you believe everyone was wrong and Gabe Brown was right

@@colleenconger5265 Aaron Henry. Henry was talkin back at Izzo (major fuckin no-no) as he was getting off the court and in the huddle, several players telling Henry to back off while restraining izzo. In the end of that and most other “izzo-loses-his-shit-on-his-players” moment, he and the player have the strongest relationship among the team.

That's old-school getting in your players faces. Tom Izzo doesn't care about any one of those players. He's pissed off because he's not an upper-echelon coach anymore.

any time when you talk back to the coach like that...you don't deserve to be on the team. period. it doesn't matter who was wrong or right. it's respect. when the teams loses respect...everyone loses. one bad apples ruins the whole bunch.

@@dutdut2.059 I understand that , I also played sports on the high school level. I loved being an athlete, I liked to compete although I found track and field to be a really tuff sport for me. Either way I'm just saying I've seen coaches on teams I've played on show temperament but most players would just let it go. However that's college so it may be different but I feel the guy should had just taken a second to listen to what his coach had to say. But obviously the guy was not trying to hear him at the time. I've watched Tom Izzo coach some great teams I've never seen him upset really...he was obviously trying to get a point across to that player. But that's just my opinion not saying the guy is a bad player or person for brushing off his coach. Me personally I would have just listened to what he had to say and said ok coach then walk away in agreeace or disagreeace
