I can’t argue with your top 2 picks , they’re classics . But , I am surprised at your placing of Mojo at the bottom . I think that the last half of the album is quite good , and Good Enough is a killer closing track . I also think that Let Me Up I’ve Had Enough is underrated . Yes , it’s let down by the production , but there are some great tracks on it . My Life / Your World , Runaway Trains , It’ll All Work Out , All Mixed Up , The Damage You’ve Done , and Think About Me are all worthy songs in my estimation . Thanks !

I am doing a TP ranking for another channel. While I definitely have some different opinions than yours, I agree with you 100% on Long After Dark. That album is criminally overlooked and underrated. Many of my favorite TP songs on that one.

I Should Of Known It off of the Mojo album is one of Tom's best hard rockers!

I love Free Fallin but I do have to say there's lots of other Tom songs to play then that Over and over.

It is "Wildflowers" for me as an LP. I thought I was the only one that likes "Letting You Go". I ask for a link to a live performance of "Letting You Go" (like perhaps from a concert?) Young to old we all know TP and The Heartbreakers.

If MOJO bores you, you must bore easy. After Wildflowers, probably my favorite Petty. The man was a brilliant musician with a great eye and ear for musical talent. LOVE Steve Ferrone as the drummer in the later years.

Wildflowers puzzled me in the beginning because the songs are so different, it really is like the Beatles' White Album, especially if you consider it had 25 songs recorded and was planned as a double album.

Long After Dark is my number 1

Totally agree about Runaway Trains.

Tom was a great songwriter and performer, but I've never understood the near universal praise for Wildflowers. I go back to it every-once-in-awhile to see if something will click. But it never does. I just tried a couple weeks ago and it still leaves me mystified. After watching a couple dozen videos with the 3 of you, I probably share your taste in music the most.

For me "Something Big" is one of the hidden gems on Hard Promises!

Love Petty. You ever get into Elvis Costello? He has some things in common with Tom - both influenced by The Byrds - both were really out the gate in the late 70s - although Petty isn't quite so front loaded as he's got great records in the 90s whereas EC's records began to decline then. I was super excited to see this video and to see your rankings but then I saw you had Mojo and Hypnotic Eye as your bottom two picks and I immediately knew you didn’t know what you were talking about. What cemented that fact to me was how low Full Man Fever was ranked and how high Echo was ranked also. I totally agree some of the ‘hits’ on FMF are a little overplayed but to say Runnin’ Down a Dream is “not a great song” is borderline blasphemous! And as much as I am a die-hard Petty fan, there’s just no way Echo is in the top 10 (and I really enjoy that record!). This list is all over the place and just plan not very good. Sorry

I think Wildflowers is a middling to poor Petty album! And ditto Southern accents. Agree that Damn the Torpedoes is number one! And like your rating Long After Dark highly....(really think Straight Into Darkness and One Story town are fantastic tunes!)... I think that You're gonna get it might be better than the debut but hard to say---both are great! I liked the Mudcrutch albums a lot... would have rated them much higher than for example Wildflowers or Southern accent. Also liked Hypnotic Eye a lot. Wildflowers was filled with too much filler. (Ex: Honey Bee...what an obvious and bluntly horrible excuse for a song. Embarrassing.) Takeaway: have to take a listen to Into the Great Wide Open! By the way, I think that you were unfairly dismissive of Full Moon Fever....not a poor song on the whole thing. Sure it is commercial. Sure some songs are overplayed but I think maybe there is one song out of the bunch I found just okay. It is a winner. Maybe your beef is more with thin production. Not my thing but okay (production...I am more into the song quality...though yeah production also has to be at least decent so you hear those songs!) Thanks for the list!

There most annoying overrated songs are Mary Jane's Last Dance and Don't come around here no more. The best for me are You Got Lucky, Refugee, I need to Know, and in part because I never hear it played much, Change of Heart. I used to like American Girl and Don't do me like That but tired of them some but they are good . And is that the best they could do with the Byrd's Feel a Whole Lot Better ?
