A Dan Penn/Chips Moman Mussel Shoals song that's been covered too many times to count.If you like this one ,check out the Percy Sledge version and Ry Cooder's cover with Bobby King.Both will make you happy.

When you pay homage to Clarence its not ripping off, Tom doesnt need Carters work, he wants to pay respect to both Carter and Carr and does this by beautifully covering Carters version.

Doesn't hold a candle to the Clarence Carter version which is called "Makin' Love At The Dark End Of The Street" and this version is mainly the spoken intro, that TP copies, and only a short bit of the James Carr song at the end. CC's voice with his deep heh heh hehs is a wonder to hear.
