Oh man, How can there be a "The Last Ship" Show without her in it??? Rhona Mitra aka "Dr. Rachel Scott". Since us, fans had watched the shocking moment in season 2. Seeing Rachel get shot & left us in a cliffhanger moment there. It got us wondering & theories & ideas for Season 3. My theory is that:Rachel was bleeding out, till a hotel guest came around & found her. Got help, Tom & the other's were shocked & rushed her to a hospital. President Michener orders the hotel on a locked down. Tom & Tex are demanding to find out who did this to her.While Rachel as lies in critical condition. As she is in surgery, Her friends lying & waiting to hear something from the doctor. Tom awaits outside of surgery & along with the president. They're talking of how could this happen. How did the Immunes know where she is was? Time goes by, the docs manage to remove the bullet & she lies in a coma. The doc tells her friends of the condition she's in but the 24 hrs are crucial.As they continuing investigating the shooting. Rachel room is being guarded. In different secret room. When she awakes the med doctor informs only to the president. Then he informs Chandler. She give them a distribution of the assassin. But for security reasons, they keep from other ppl from knowing the truth. Besides ppl still believe she's in a coma & in critical condition. Finally got a lead on the shooter. With lil' tip from McDowell. Got the name "Curtis". Green & Tex leads a team to bring him in. They storm into his place, Tex wanted to kill him, but his friends got him to back off. They brought him in. Had him processed & jailed. As Rachel remains in her room. She tries to understand why she hasn't seen any of her friends from the ship. When Tom returns, informs her that they've got the shooter. He was a Immune. They talked, there's no way of knowing of how many other's that are like him out there left. Later the Michener arrives. They've discuss an solution to keep her safe is to make ppl believe that she is dead. It's the only way to keep her safe. Only ppl know is the President & Chandler. Rachel is stunned & against the idea. At first, she couldn't bear the thought to have all her friends from the James. Believe she died. they continuing discussing it. It was the only way to keep her safe & she can keep working without being in danger. When the time comes they'll unveiled the truth. So the president sets a press conference. Announces that Dr. Scott had died & the medical staff tried everything they could to save her. That's the official story. Tex decides to leave & go home to be with his daughter. The crew of Nathan James are feeling sadden & stunned to hear the news. Along with the people of America has received her cure.Rachel is secretly place in protected custody. Gets transported to undisclosed location.Tom & Rachel say their goodbyes & hope this won't be forever. Staged her funeral, with an closed casket. The body was placed with another. Was buried with full honors. Press coverage & everyone bought it. But Chandler feels disbarred of keeping a hidden secret from his shipmates & crew. As it is the same way with Michener. But this is my theory along countless other's who have their own.I felt that's the way it happen. In the beginning of season 3. They never did show the death or the funeral. All I was the President said in his speech & a picture of her on a Ration Stamp. Gotta ament it is very weird & suspicions after seeing that. Let's continue watching the show. If it fact that Rachel Scott died. Well the network, Michael Bay & screen writer's had made a very serious mistake. Letting Rhona character die. Unless she had other plans to do, with her life beside being on the ship.

I think this is just me trying to hold on to Dr. Scott, but could they be pretending she is dead to protect her from future attacks? Or is what they say in Season 3 really true? *Spoiler Alert* it is so hard for me to grasp that she is really dead. I feel like the show has lost half of its important stuff and it is trying to function with its vital parts missing. Unless I hear Dr. Scott is miraculously alive, I don't think I will be watching The Last Ship from now on. How sad:( I was so looking forward to this summer the whole year!
