My Grandfather told me an almost identical story. The greatest generation that was. Thank you to all the veterans!!

Nessa Palmer Amen . They do not make such a strong, loyal, patriotic, generation like this...Our elderly are gems. These were ladies and gentlemen in the true sense of the word. They deserve our full respect! Love and miss sooo many of these dear people.

Reply from Tom Sitter: The evening of my talk, I was picked to go first. I was not fully prepared so I didn't think it went all that well. But thanks to you (and others with similar praise) I am very grateful. In the closing chapters of my book "Costellos" (2013) I deal with some of my further adventures if you're interested. Thanks again. Tom

Its an absolute pleasure to talk to you my friend. I am MORE than interested in your book.. Please let me know where I can get hold of it. Also, I cant find the results of your story slam competition.. How did you fair? After your performance, I really cant see you doing anything other than winning :) but if not i would still like to know how well you did :) thanks again TOM.. Im from the UK.. My entire family is Military, so no doubt my grandfather was one of the brits you guys rubbed shoulders with at some point..:) He never spoke about the war to me.. and i was far too young to really pay any kind of attention even if he did, he died before i was mature enough to take an interest in my family. My heart warms to the fact that your generation still has people like you representing it, Im actually scared for the years to come, without a solid generation behind us that has experienced the hardship of WAR, its hard to know where our moral compass will take us in the next 40 years. All the best for the future TOM, a pleasure and an honor to speak to you.

Note from Tom Sitter: The last story slam (Oct. 27, 2017) was a near disaster. I attempted to cram an 11 minute story into 5 minutes! (House rules) (Poor continuity). It was disjointed, out of sequence and too much omitted. I got polite applause -- most very likely out of pity. Send your address, by mail if you prefer, and I will send you a signed copy of my book as a gift. You can send info to kathleensitter@gmail.com

Might it be possible, to put subtitles into the Video? Since the Sound Quality is not that good, that would be helpful! The reason why? I am Hearing impaired.

Kathy...was born and raised on Staten Island, NY...My grandfather, Joseph, migrated from Alsace. I am aware there are alot of Sitters in Wisconsin, possibly for farming? NY was the hotspot for immigrants from Ellis Island. He was French and married a German woman as the borders over there suffered the winds of war.
