Tom Skilling joins WGN's Weekend Morning News -- and he's quite comfortable

Tom Skilling has done just about everything during his illustrious WGN career. But he had a first on Sunday morning. For the first time, at least according to Skilling, he appeared on TV in a bathrobe. But that's because he joined Sunday morning from home via Zoom, as he prepares for the comforts of retirement. Skilling's last weather forecast will be this Wednesday. On the Weekend Morning News, he talked about his upcoming retirement, and -- as only Skilling can do -- shared some great stories.

Although I live in Louisiana, I've been a Tom Skilling fan since the early 1980s when WGN-TV's direct feed started appearing on my cable system and did so for decades until it was replaced with WGN America. He will definitely be missed but he has more than earned his retirement. Thank you Mr. Skilling, sunny skies ahead.

What is the date and time that he will be giving his weather forecast report though? Anyone? [::EDIT::] OK... So I see that Tom's last weather forecast will be today, Feb. 28, 2024. I don't know if it will be in the AM or PM though. Probably the AM... which means I missed it. :( Tom Skilling is Chicago. Thank you for all the positive vibes and weather reports over the years Tom and enjoy your retirement! :)

Breaking News: A special place be reserved for you in heaven, but on orders from that ULTIMATE weather meteorologist? If NOAA doesn't honor you by naming a perfect weather condition (or at least a unique beautiful cloud formation) for you? Cirrus/Nacreous/Altocumulus/TOM SKILLING/Spritualis! perhaps? There will be HELL to pay! As I wake the mornings in the days ahead? I can just retrieve your OLD forecasts? Should STILL be just as accurate! Congratulations! Don't a stranger!
