I love this man. Had the pleasure of working for him on tour for a short time in my younger years. Knew one of his sisters and a few other members of his family very well. He’s talented, genuine, generous and kind; and my time in his company remains among some of the greatest times in my life. Thanks for the music and the memories, Tom. Haven’t seen you in a few decades, but I hold the times on the road with you and The Storytellers, and the encouragement you gave me, so dear to my heart that it seems like mere days ago, rather than decades.

@@brendakayeperry6860 I know his family very well and he took me on as a “Roadie”, as they were called, back in mid to late 80s. I setup the equipment on stage and then broke it down and packed it away again after the shows. Half the time I rode on the bus with the band, the other half I followed in another vehicle. I also sold merchandise and came up with a way to increase sales, which he rewarded me for by giving me a percentage of the profits as a bonus. He also told his sister that he thought I was creative and a hard worker and was “going places” later in life. One of thr coolest compliments I’d ever received and still carry it with my in my heart all these decades later. He’s like family to me, though I haven’t seen him in a while; and I’m even closer with other members of his family. So I don’t pick or sing…I just one on a small crew that made sure everything was setup and working smoothly so he could give the fans the best show possible.

I love Tom T. And it saddens me that he left this world the way he did but of course it was on his terms and I wouldn't have wanted to take that from him Rest In Peace

I sure wish that country music radio had the integrity to stop ignoring the greats like Tom T. Hall. His music is absolutely wonderful, so simple and straight from the heart.... it is sad to me that there is now an entire generation that isn't even aware of Mr. Hall's music because of radio's ignorance.

KLUNKET you have to listen to so-called "country oldies" stations to hear him or streaming radio. I'm glad that even today he sticks to the old ways. And until recently until his wife passed, I had no idea she was from England! Imagine a classic country singer from the backwoods of Kentucky was married to a foreigner! Totally burying the stereotype these people know little outside their world.

I had the chance to meet him only once. He was in Frankfort Kentucky at the Old State Capital over 25 years ago. I got within 10 feet from him and security wouldn't let me get any closer. I just wanted him to sign my hat that had his name on in. They said no. He is still my favorite songwriter. I have no hard feelings. He would have been the most famous person I had ever met.
