Boston Celtics has traded for the 33-year-old all-star point guard Jrue Holiday in exchange for Malcolm Brogdon, Robert Williams and draft picks. Here are his best highlights from the 2022-23 NBA season with the Milwaukee Bucks as he averaged 19.3 PPG on 48-38-86 shooting splits to go with 5.1 RPG and 7.4 RPG in 67 games played.

Yeah he's a definite upgrade. We all love Smart but there is no doubt Jrue is better. He's as good defensively and much better scoring without the sometimes bad decision making of Smart. Smart will forever be beloved in Boston but Jrue's ceiling has been All Star level whilst Smart never got there

as a bucks fan, i love jrue so much. boston was the one team i didn’t want him to go because he’s such a good fit. can be a 3rd or 4th option offensively and obviously defend at such a high level. in the playoffs his shot selection would be very odd and his shooting and turnover problems were crucial at times, so if they can limit that especially with jaylens ball handling issues last season, the celtics will be deadly. i can’t wait for the bucks celtics ECF. jrue is inevitably gonna cook the bucks in a revenge series, but we’ll still come out on top with dame. regardless this season is gonna be a blast

Remember last regular season the 2nd or 3rd game against the Bucks? Jrue was the only one carrying their team and the Celtics lost in overtime. Welcome JRUE to the CELTICS! Definitely an upgrade over Malcom and Marcus. Gonna miss Timelord though. Good luck to those three.

I've been hearing for years "Jrue is better than Smart" and his numbers are better by a bit, but I'll like to see him for a full season on my fav team so I can compare for real.

He's easily an upgrade over Smart. I think it's mostly a wash defensively but he's way more consistent offensively than Smart is and a better playmaker. Plus he doesn't have an inflated ego like Smart does.

Man I’m gonna miss smart but the pace Jrue plays at is going to be nice to see. Gonna be interesting how it impacts the team as at times they seemed to be a little reckless and out of control whereas Jrue seems very poised.

Celtics are a superteam after getting porzingis and holiday. Smart and rob will definitely be missed but brad stevens made our team even better than last years. Next season should be really fun.

Tough to see Rob go because we haven't seen his best offensively even if he may not consistently be as impactful athletically going forward, but this move sort of shows that either Brad really values jrue similar to how he did porzingis, or he never actually wanted to trade smart and jrue is replacing a lot of what smart does. The clippers really messed up this offseason by not trading for brogdon, maybe Rob and Smart would still be on the roster with porzingis

Haven’t seen anyone say anything about the fact the Celtics just got a lot less injury prone. I loved rob but he was just never healthy. He also didn’t fit Mazzula’s style of play which it seems the Celtics are leaning into. Brogdon was reported not be happy and is another injury prone guy. Although the Celtics got older and the payroll is probably unsustainable past next season w this core, I like the move.

Jrue is basically smart but a better shooter/passer. Rob was awesome very exciting player to watch can’t lie that it doesn’t hurt to lose him but injuries are gunna linger with him

It sucks to see Rob go and will miss his defense. He couldn't stay healthy consistently. Jrue Holiday is an all Star type of player and love the trade for the celtics. He's the type of player who may put the celtics over the top!!

What...? Without Ainge's trade, there's no Brown, Tatum and Rob from the draft picks. Brad was only able to make such trades from the treasure trove Ainge left behind/accumulated.

Porzingis was pretty much healthy last season. He played 65 games last season ... Would have been 70+ games but Wizaeds front office sat him out for the last 3 weeks of the season .....
