I used to think this clip was fantastic, just because of its expressive power. However, now that I have learned how to count the compas properly, and can follow it reasonably well, this bulerias is so far beyond fantastic. I don't even have a word for it.

Pues las bulerias de tomatito tienen cierta complejidad y armonía,pero siempre tocando desde el corazon,un ejemplo de las bulerias mas "sencillas" serian en todo caso las de moraito,que son más "simples" pero con un soniquete inigualable.

@@pete-i7p En realidad hasta hace no. Muy poco no les ponían nombre solo tocaban por rumbas, por tientos, por tangos, luego paco de Lucia empezó a grabar duscos al igual que otros y por necesidad le empezaron a poner nombre a las piezas

16 years ago. And I only learn about Tomatito in 2019 when watching Vengo(an early 2000s Spanish movie on Flamenco). What an incredible guitar player. I've heard this bulerias played by Paco de Lucia as well, who BTW sounds very technical and not a note out of place, but I like this one more, more pronounced and aggressive. Olé

¿Por qué seguimos repitiendo esa falsa dicotomía? Si una interpretación conmueve, no interesa si proviene de una partitura o si es improvisada. Se puede improvisar y no moverle un pelo a nadie, también.

@@profesornicolasrodriguez8587 exacto. El maestro de maestros en el mundo flamenco, Paco de Lucía, nunca escribió una nota aunque fue capaz de crear un mundo de música que conmueve hasta los muertos. Beethoven, que es Dios aunque nadie lo sepa, no dominó el contrapunto hasta los 25 años, aunque componía desde los 12. ¿Qué identifican a unos y a otros, escriban o no partituras? La capacidad de conmover a otros seres humanos sin dirigirse a tu cerebro. Su música le habla directamente a tu corazón.

They cannot be compared musically or technically by any means. The Pacos, Tomatito, Sabicas etc. are all parts of a one of a kind guitar tradition, and they are all freaks of nature when it comes to playing, feel, rhythm, technique... amazing musicians. Joe may not be the greatest guitarist on Earth, but he is an incredible rock guitar player and musician on his own, and his compositions speak for themselves... he is one of the electric guitar most characteristic players for a reason.

Wow, this is just amazing. That's what I am looking for. I love Flamenco and i try to teach myself playing some good songs. I would be more than happy if Ricardo would give us a tutorial on how to play this Buleria. It is different to others.
